'O-Conner', Dom snapped his last name harshly, causing the whole team to wince. Brian visibly flinched, and pulled away from him, cringing into Vince's chest, and hiding his face in Vince's shoulder. Dom's eyes widened slightly, before he closed them, breathing deeply, before opening them again, only to meet the angry gaze of his childhood friend. Dom shot him an apologetic look, before opening his arms, and carefully wrapped an arm around Brian's middle, gently pulling him back against his chest. The blondes only response was a heartbreaking noise, that clearly showed just how hurt he was, the shaking shoulders, and way he buried his head in his shoulder didn't make Dom feel any better, neither did the wet spots on his wife beater.

Dom nussled his neck in apology, pressing gentle kisses until the worst of the tears, and whimpers died down, and Brian's body, which had been tense as a spring, relaxed into his hardened muscle. 'I'm sorry', Dom murmured, his voice soft with regret, 'I shouldn't have said that, especially in that tone, after the things you have been through lately.

Brian didn't answer in words, just leaned up for a kiss, before burying his head back into a warm chest. He felt warm, and safe lying between Dom and Vince, with his family scattered round the living room. It felt nice, after all the dangerous shit he had been up to lately, to know that his family cared enough bout him, to come all the way to Miami to get him.

He had to run for his freedom, race for his life, go toe to toe with his homey, and crash a car into a moving boat, just to earn his freedom, and he had to admit, that while he loved it, he loved this more, them more, this feeling more...his family. Wow, he had a family, a real family...that was an odd, mind blowing thought to a guy like him.

Dom and Vince watched the sleeping blonde, and knew that everything would be ok. They had their family back, their freedom back, and Brian back, and in the end, that was all that mattered.
