His soul is full of green envy; envy of the love he never knows, of the family he has never had, of the thoughts he never has the opportunity to share. He, being bred to hate and to feel nothing but superiority, will never have what he longs for the most. He is full of longing of things that he has never known. His soul is evergreen.

His mind is poisoned by his surroundings. He is taken under the wings of those who have a skewed perspective of the world, who replace his thoughts with their own. His vision is now green with hate, caused by his mentors that are turning him into a tool for them to work with. He is so tainted that he can't notice that he is being offered a way out, so he rejects it to continue his own way, or what he thinks is his own way. All he knows is coated with slime, rotten and going bad at an alarmingly fast rate. His mind is evergreen.

His appearance is green; the school he lives in clothes him in that rich emerald, mirroring the color displayed within his own self: his mind, his heart, his soul. In all he does, he represents this serpent tribe, this group of individuals that thrive on cunning and deception. He wears this shade with his head held high, and he promotes the cool shade proudly. He loves the feeling of its cold silken threads as they slide over his skin-it's a feeling that he hasn't found in any other color. As time continues, his pale skin sweats and glows, appearing in the dark to be a pale shade of luminescent jade. His appearance is evergreen.

Yes, he is evergreen. He is full of hate, and envy, and slimy, rotten, evil thoughts. But he is another type of evergreen as well.

He is full of hope. He hopes for the chance to do good deeds, to reverse the actions of those he grew up with. He longs for change, for hope, for love. He is full of the green of growth, of thorny vines that can tear down the walls of terror that have been built around him. The green of new grass, of soft leaves on his skin: a feeling that he hopes can replace the feeling of cold emerald silk. He wants to shed the putrid skin of his surroundings and grow a new green; a fresh green of change and renewal, of youth and vitality, of fun and freedom. All these things he doesn't think he will ever get.

But he hopes.

He is evergreen.
