Syaoran and his girlfriend walked up to the shack, neither looking enthused about having to spend the night there.
"I'm sorry Sakura, but for convenience's sake, this is the best place to stay," he said.
She gave him a half-hearted smile. "It's okay. It's only for one night."
They walked inside and breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that it was in reasonable condition, despite its small size. There were two beds against the wall close together with a table between them which had a lamp on it providing the only source of light in the room and a stack of magazines. The walls were mostly bare. There was a 30 inch TV in the center of the room and two windows on either side of it as well as one to the left of the door. There was nearly no light coming through them since the sun had almost completely set by the time they got there.
"We're going to have to get up early if we're going to get the car before it gets dark," Sakura said."
"And we're going to have to sleep in our clothes," Syaoran said.
"That's okay. Do you want to go to bed now or do you want to watch TV for a little while?"
"We can go to bed now. I'm tuckered out anyway."
Sakura took the right bed and Syaoran took the left bed.
"I'm sorry we'll have to cut our vacation a little short because of the car repairs," Syaoran said.
"As long as the rental company doesn't hold us responsible for the problem, I'll be happy. We still have three days to see the different tourist attractions."
Syaoran smiled. "That's one of the many things I love about you. You always look on the bright side of things."
She smiled back. "I've learned that it's better to go through life with a positive attitude."
"I wish we could share a bed, but my mom would freak since we're not married yet."
"There are other ways we can be close," Sakura said.
She reached out her right hand toward him. He stretched his left hand and they crossed their pinky fingers. Syaoran smiled.
"Reminds me of when we were ten, right after I told you I loved you."
"Yeah. So is this okay?"
His smile widened. "It's perfect."
"Goodnight Syaoran."
"Goodnight Sakura."
They uncrossed their fingers and Syaoran turned out the light. Still facing each other, they closed their eyes and soon fell asleep.
