James sauntered into the common room and plopped onto the loveseat next to Lily, interrupting her studies. She looked up, eyes flashing, and said coolly, "Hello Potter." "Evaaaaans. How's it going?" Lily shrugged. "It's been better." "Why, what's wrong?" James asked, getting ready whoever hurt Lily.

"Nothing, how about you?" Her voice took on a teasing tone. "Break any hearts lately?" James raised an eyebrow. "Have you everseen me date anyone? Really think. Have I?" Lily, startled, thought for a moment and responded with, "No. But why not?" "Because I never wanted anyone else." James' face was free of all laughter. Lily was stunned and her eyes grew wide. "R-really?"

James nodded. "Really." He moved closer to Lily and searched her face for a reaction. Lily smiled sweetly and said, "Wow. That's just... wow." James gave Lily a small smile and slowly wrapped an arm around her waist.

Lily snuggled a little closer and rested her head on his shoulder, fitting perfectly against his body. "James?" James smiled, unable to believe this was happening. "Yes, Lily?" "Will you go to Hogsmeade with me?" Lily looked up, emerald eyes sparkling.

"Only if you let me kiss you," James smiled softly, hazel eyes twinkling with happiness. "If you insist," Lily matched his smile and leaned in. James kissed her softly but passionately. Lily lay down on the couch without breaking the kiss, pulling James with her. When the two broke apart, James pulled Lily up onto his lap.

Lily smiled dreamily and said breathlessly, "You're a great kisser." James smiled at her. "This... was real... right?" "I- I think so. I hope so." Lily blushed, biting her swollen lower lip, and looked away. "Just to make sure..." James caught Lily swiftly in another mind-blowing kiss, gentler this time. Lily pulled away first and leaned into James' chest. "So it wasn't a dream." I guess not," James mused.

"So, what does this make us?" Lily asked. "I don't think I can go back to hating you after that." "I'm hoping it will make us a couple," James said, gazing at Lily with absolute love. "Making me James Potter's girlfriend. You know, I never thought I'd say that." Lily smiled, returning James' gaze. "But, I like it." James stole another kiss from his girlfriend. Lily sat for a moment and said, "I think I love you, James." James stared at her. "You have noidea how long I've waited to hear you say that."

"Well, I'm glad I finally said it, then. Wouldn't want my boyfriend's head to explode." James grinned and brushed the hair out of Lily's face. Lily smiled softly and unconsciously ruffled his hair.

James grabbed her hand. "Guess we better break it to the common room." "What?" Lily asked, looking confused. James pointed over his shoulder at the crowd of people watching from the doorway, Sirius in the lead. "Oh Godric," Lily's face turned the same shade as her hair and she covered her face with her hands. "How long have they been watching?"

"Long enough, Lilyflower." Sirius said, grinning wildly. He turned around and shouted, "Three cheers for Prongs and Lilyflower!"

The Gryffindor common room hasn't been as loud since.

(A/N: Awww! I love these two! This story was based on a conversation between me and a James on Twitter. PM me if you want my username and review if I made you smile. And if I didn't review anyway!)
