The Silent Night

The Silent Night

I walked among the stars,

The dew and nightly monsters fell apart,

Daddy used to sing in quiet tones,

While Grand-Mummy used to sing along.

My darling Spike would hold my hand,

And people would laugh in bloody pants,

When Miss Edith was a good girl,

We'd take her out shopping and the worms would always stand.

The silent night was never there,

The stars would sing,

The people stare through blank eyes.

We'd taste the night and dance along,

The crouching silence always gone.

But now silent night is all there is,

Daddy's gone and left me sick,

Grand-mummy left me hurt and weak,

Spike has proven himself a fool

And Miss Edith will never listen too.
