The soft pitter-patter of rain droned on outside of the window. The sky was dark and the air was cold. But, the mood was quite fitting for the event that was going on. It was not one of happiest of moments—the event was more one of sadness and tears.

White Rabbit lay on his death bed, breath slowing down by the minute, and his heartbeat close to stopping. Being mostly Rabbit, his life was short, and for him, being 25 was an old age. Now it was close to his time to go.

The Red Queen sat next to him, petting his ears gently. After all the years of protecting his queen, his fur had become matted coarse. His leg twitched slightly, seeming to enjoy the petting.

"Y-You must find…a new servant…to…replace me." The Rabbit wheezed out, putting his queen as his top priority, even on his death bed. Frowning, the queen continued to pet the bunny, trying her best to be strong.

"I'll never find someone as good as you are." The bunny gave her a knowing smile before saying, "In my house…there is…a baby…bunny. He will be… your… new servant. If you…wish."

The queen said nothing, but nodded in understanding. The white rabbit had found an orphan and was raising him, but it seems he would no longer be able to. The time was ticking and the rabbit was about to pass.

"Before…I go…I have one thing…to say…" The Red Queen leaned in to hear him, for his voice was getting quiet. "I…love…you…mom…"

The queen stood in shock for a moment; it had always been 'yes my queen, red queen, and master.' She had raised him since he was a buck.

"I love you too Bunny…I love you too…" The rabbit smiled and his heart beat four more times before it stopped. His chest stop rising and falling, and there was no more sound.

The rain began to fall down in buckets, drowning out the sound of the Queen's sobs. Her servant—no—her baby was gone. She stood and ran out to the bunny's home, and walking inside she found a small crib with a buck inside, wailing. She picked the small one up and began to rock it.

"It's okay little one." She hesitated for a second before continuing

"Mama's here."
