Disclaimer: I do not own Odysseus, nor do I own Calypso. And damned if I want to.

I always thought how unfair it was to Calypso, so here's a look into what was really going on all those years trapped on that island.

Please remember to review!

Calypso's Side

And so the nymph in all her glory

One morning

When the Dawn was just touching the sky

Went down to the sea that held

To it's bosum her tiny island

To which she had been banished

By her father god and brother gods

For her manner, forward.

And there she found

A half dead man

Who must have been lacking in great wit

For he had worn his armour

To go swimming in the sea

The domain of Calypso's great sire

Poseidon, god of the sea, himself in all his glory.

His wretched state stirred something in her heart

And so in pity she took him to her bower

And nursed him back to health.

A couple years later…

"Oh, woe on me!" Odysseus was crying, standing at the edge of the sea and gesturing wildly off into the distance. "Woe on me! I have been trapped here by a schemeing woman! A jealous nymph!"

"…a jealous and schemeing woman who you try to seduce every night…" Calypso muttered from where she sat watching him a couple feet away.

"Oh, woe! Woe! Woe! Despair! Oh the troubles I've seen, the horrors I've endured! And now to be stuck here on this…rock, with nae crew nor ship to lighten my heart, and never to see my own homeland once more! Oh, Ithaca! Ithaca! How I long for thee!"

"There's a boat right there!" Calypso shouted, pointing at said bost which was tied to shore and ready to set sail. "You can go any time. Really."

Odysseus turned and glared at her, then kept on lamenting.

The rest you know

If you've read the poem

But bear in mind

That is only one side

And it's not as if those guys

Were exactly the smartest of heroes.

So, did you like it? Did you hate it? I know I probably offended someone. But I have actually read the poem in it's entirety.

And when I say that I don't mean the Greek version, I mean one of the English ones.

I can speak a little bit of Latin. No Greek.

Review please!

Sincerely
