The King
Long ago in Chinese history there were three kingdoms: Xie Wei, Tang, and Jiang. There was a powerful king who ruled Xie Wei. His name was Xin Lao. At this time China was split into three kingdoms and there was chaos. His Kingdom, Xie Wei was fighting with two other kingdoms during the third century. There were a lot of battles and bloodshed during this point in history.
For years the king tried to call a truce with the other two kings but was met with either assassination attempts or silence. Lu, the king of Tang tried to have Xin Lao poisoned with a exotic plant from Persia. Xin Lao almost died from poison and declared war on the Tang. He was close to victory that time. The Second attempt on Xin's life was during a battle with the Jiang. Xin Lao escaped with his life without injury. This angered the king of Xie Wei.
One day the Emperor of China appointed Xin Lao to his court. The Emperor said that he wanted his empire reunited again. The Emperor told the story of when China was split in seven kingdoms and how much bloodshed there was during that time.
"I understand," said Xin Lao. He took this as a new duty and prepared his army for battle. First, Xin Lao was going to battle Jiang in the east and the Tang in the west.
The battle in the west was a long and bloody battle where the Tang lost miserably. Never had Xin Lao saw such death and destruction. Within six months Xin Lao won the battle and took Lu captive. This was a momentous occasion for the king.
The battle against the Jiang was short lived. This battle lasted three days before the king of Jiang surrendered. Only a few people died in that battle. Soon, the Emperor appointed Xin Lao to his court once again. This time it was for celebration. Xin Lao was given the title of Imperial General. China was united again under the emperor and his faithful general, Xin Lao.
