:-: I See It Now, And I Will Never Stop Loving You :-:

I watched as my friend and partner of ten going on eleven years die in front of me. That's one of the things that I will remember all my life, and the events there after.

"Come on Sweetheart, you're a lot stronger than that, come on Calleigh, you have to hang in there." I plead with her, I can feel her slipping away with every breath she takes.

"Come on, Sweetheart, please… Calleigh, you can't die," I say to her, her Green/Grey/Blue eyes stare into my own blue ones, what I see in them is pure unadulterated fear, I have only ever seen that look once before, and that's when she had been nearly killed.

Her breathing becomes more laboured, and the blood, my god, the blood is just every where, I wonder how such a small body can produce so much blood.

She has tears running down the sides of her face, as I said to her: "Come on Calleigh, Sweetheart, ambulance is nearly here, you just have to hang on for a little longer, please, can you just do that for me?"

"Horatio," she says, "promise me, I want you to promise me, that if I die, that you," she started coughing up blood with that small amount of effort, "that you'll tell my dad, I want you to tell him, I want you and only you to tell him, that I died fighting," she started coughing again, only this time she was coughing up a lot more blood.

"No, I can't tell him, cause you AREN'T going to die, do you hear me, you AREN'T GOING TO DIE," I told her forcefully tears running down my cheeks.

"Horatio, you have to do this, please, I know I'm dying, please Horatio, please." She pleaded with me, tears streamed down her cheeks, and mine also.

"Ok, I will." I said, brushing the blonde hair away from her face.

"Horatio," she said putting her smaller hand into my larger one and squeezing it with all the strength that she had left.

"I love you,"

They were her last words. The ambulance arrived shortly after, but they were too late, way too late. She was gone and I never got to tell her that I loved her.

Letting her go was the hardest part, but it was a crime scene now, the crime scene of a murdered police officer, one of Miami's finest.

In a matter of minutes, Frank was there, and Alexx.

I saw Frank duck under the crime scene tape and come towards where I was kneeling in front of my murdered partner, tears still streamed down my face as I held onto her hand, lightly caressing her slowly cooling skin.

"Horatio, I'm so sorry," He said to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Come on, Alexx will take good care of Calleigh, Horatio," He said, urging me to stand, but before I stood I slowly swept a hand across Calleigh's cheek, and closed her eyes, for the last time, before covering her with the white sheet that was slowly turning red from the large pool of blood that had formed around her.
