Henry, Thomas and
The 4F
Part 1
It was a sunny day on sodor and Henry was pulling the midday coal train to barrow-in-furness. He had just passed Vicarstown station after letting Gordon pass with the express to Knapford station. When Henry got to Barrow-In-Furness he was uncoupled from his train and went to the shed to be re-coaled. He saw a blue diesel couple to his train. "What sort of train is that" asked Henry to his driver. "That Henry" said his driver "is a class 31". "But where is 44431" asked Henry. "Well Henry..."said his driver "I'll take it from there thank you" said the Yard Foreman "well... 'Steam engine' most of the steam engines round here have been taken to the scrap yard at Barry Island". "But why sir" asked Henry. "Because British Railways have replaced steam engines with diesel locomotives because they are cleaner and easier to run". Henry was speechless. His driver moved him onto the turntable; he had to get out of the cab to turn the table. While he was moving the handle some boys ran across the shed yard and into his cab, they messed around with the controls in his cab he started moving and he started moving forward his driver stopped turning the handle when he saw Henry moving, fortunately he stopped it on one of the dockside lines. Henry rolled down the dockside lines crashing into boxes are parcels until he hit the buffers at the end of the dock and fell into the water. His driver and fireman ran down the dock and saw Henry in the water, it was low tide so he hit the rocks and he completely destroyed the front of his frames. When it was low tide they got the Breakdown Crane and lifted him out and put him on a flat bed.
