"I need to go! I need to go, or I swear I will kill him!" she says one day to him. It comes out of nowhere for him.

They had been sitting at a table, waiting for Max and the others to arrive when she suddenly blurted out the heartfelt confession. His immediate reaction was to stare at her, with his mouth hanging open. The second was a confused "What?" that escaped him.

She just looked past him, at something behind him. Her eyes were stony and cold. What ever was behind her was turning her into an ice-queen. So he did what anyone in this situation would do, he turned his head and tried to make-out what it was that held her attention.

Max. Max with Liz. He should have figured.

Max was standing with Liz. They were staring into each others eyes, and she was stammering something to him. He didn't know what it was that they were talking about, but Kyle figured it must have been on the lines of another heartfelt love confession from Max, while Liz was trying for the sake of a pregnant Tess to avoid answering it.

He heard the sniff, and turned back to Tess. She wasn't looking at him anymore. She was clutching her stomach while her hair bobbed in front of him.

He reached out his hand, and touched her shoulder. He felt her shake, and then squeezed her shoulder, trying to give her his support.

"Tess..." he started to say, but the blond in front of him interrupted him.

"Kyle... please. Don't say what ever it is you want to say. I can't hear it now. I don't want to. I just know that with everyday that is passing, my desperate love for Max is turning into desperate hate. I need to leave now, or I will do something we all might regret later on. I just..."

She halted. He felt her shudder underneath his hand. So he retracted his arm and got up from his seat. He came around the table and stopped just by her seat, slowly and not to startle her, he placed his hand under her small frame and helped her up from the chair.

"Alright, come on. We'll leave from the back." Was all he said.

"No..." she resisted and weakly continued. "Not leave the Crash Down... I need to leave... leave him..."

Kyle understood. He nodded and said, "I know. I meant for us now to get out... I'll figure something out. I promise."

They left that night. They never returned. No one from the 'pod squad' ever heard from them again.
