(The following happened when everyone is 22-24)
This is just chapter 1 so don't expect the rest of the chapters to be as boring as this.
Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, and Lee took off on their mission to assassinate a murderer. So much had happened in the last few hours. Tsunade was killed so the whole village was in chaos. While everyone went crazy, 3 teams were formed by Shikamaru. One was the Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, and Lee team; another was Neji, Choji, Tenten, and Kiba. And the third was Shino, Hinata, Ino, and Sasuke. They were all converging on Kouita, the hitman who assassinated Tsunade. While Naruto got extremely pissed and yelled about how he would kill that guy, Shikamaru devised some infallible teams. His team was strength, Neji's team was detection, and Shino's team was surprise. It was perfect. The 3 teams communicated through walkie-talkies. "We have spotted him!" said Neji. "Good now go in for the kill." whispered Shikamaru. All 3 teams converged and they finally got to Kouita. "So, you all found me, huh?" said Kouita. "Good luck finding me again!" With that he threw a smoke bomb and everyone coughed. After this he vanished. "Auuuugghh!!!! Let's follow him!!!!" yelled Naruto. "Yeah, and get ourselves killed. We don't even know where he is!" exclaimed Shikamaru. "I refuse to go back! I will kill him!" said Naruto. But then his vision blurred. Neji knocked him out. "Nice job Neji." said Shikamaru. "Hmph. I guess all we can do now is go back" said Neji. They returned back to the village in silence with Neji carrying Naruto.
Shizune confronted them. "I have some big news" she said. However it sounded muffled. It seemed like she had been crying. "I was with Tsunade-sama as she was……… losing her life. She said that Naruto-kun would be next hokage. By the way why is he knocked out?" Everyone was too shocked to answer. Naruto? The next hokage? It was like a dream come true for him. Of course, he wasn't awake to hear. Tenten was the only one who could speak. "Well, he got real mad since the assassinator got away, so we had to knock him out."
"I argued, since I didn't think he was ready. But Tsunade stuck by her decision. She said that she knew this day would come for some time. So I let her do it." They were all stunned. No one could talk. They all just left one by one. Neji gave Naruto to Shizune before leaving. They all returned home, anxious to see what would happen next.
