A/N this is a revised version of my main story Love Hurts as I have decided to rewrite it without the incest, but it will still be Elsanna. Standard Disclaimers: I don't own Frozen or ANY OF THE CHARACTERS. I do this purely for fun and enjoyment.
Anna's POV
Hi! I'm Anna Anderson, and this is the story of how I fell madly in love with my best friend of 3 years Elsa Winters. Let me take you back to when we first met.
I was a freshman at Arendelle University, when I first came across the enigma that was Elsa Winters. I had just left my abusive relationship with my boyfriend of 4 years, Hans Southerland. When I told him I was done with him, he couldn't take it and started beating me. I got away from him, but he chased me out to the street, punched me in the face and then kicked me in the stomach, fracturing my ribs. I was screaming hoarsely for help but, due to the unbearable pain, I blacked out, spewing blood everywhere.
When I finally came to, Hans had been knocked unconscious, by a person—who looked like doctor—who'd come to my rescue. Before I could get a good look at them, however, I blacked out again. When I woke up the second time, I was at Arendelle General Hospital, with cuts and bruises everywhere.
How did I get here? I wondered to myself, as I looked around the room. Little did I know, my questions were about to be answered when suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
"Come in!" I said, hoping I didn't sound too terrible. There was a small pause before the door opened to reveal the doctor, who was absolutely gorgeous. She had platinum-blonde hair, and icy blue eyes that are so mesmerizing, I swear I almost got lost in them.
"Hello I am Elsa Winters," she said, giving me a warm smile. "I will be your doctor for the remainder of your stay here at Arendelle General Hospital." The doctor looked at her charts, for a moment, before glancing back up at me. "Now Anna, I know this might be hard for you but I have to ask…do you remember what happened to you last night?" She asks gently.
"N-not really Dr. Winters," I answered softly, looking down at my hands. "I remember coming home and telling my boyfriend, Hans, that I was breaking up with him. Then I remember him beating me to the point I blacked out. But…nothing after that."
"Okay," sighed Elsa, running a hand through her bangs as she looked me in the eyes. "Anna…this is going to be difficult to tell you but you need to know," she started, taking a deep breath. "You were sexually assaulted by your ex-boyfriend. I know because…I saw him do it. I was the one who knocked him out and rescued you. I'm the one who brought you back here."
At first, I'm shocked. It's not like I don't think Hans would do something like that, because I know he would, but…It doesn't make it any easier to hear. I sat in silence for a moment, taking in the information before I respond.
"Dr…thanks for rescuing me, but…why?" I ask, not meeting her gaze. "I mean, I'm not saying I am not grateful or anything, because I am. It is just that…everyone that I've ever known, even my friends, has called me worthless. E-even my own family hates me, do you know why they hate me because I am a lesbian, they said that…that I would be better off dead. They said I'm klutzy, and awkward, and worthless," I finish as tears start to form behind my eyes.
Elsa looked at me with concern. "Anna, listen to me," she said, taking my chin in her hand and forcing me to look at her. "I know I don't know you that well but I can tell you that you are not worthless. If people think that about you, then they don't really know you, and your family should love you, regardless of your sexual orientation" she said, and I felt a few tears roll down my face.
"I had someone very close to me die by the hands of their abuser," Elsa continued, and I could see the pain in her eyes. "I couldn't do anything about it, but I vowed that no one else I came across would die. That is why I rescued you. Because I couldn't sit there and let you be abused."
When she finished, Elsa gave me a large smile, and I couldn't help but return it. "Thank you," I said, pulling the doctor into a tight hug. She held me for a moment, before pulling away.
"After you get out of here, maybe you and I could get a coffee?" She asked me, and I blinked in surprise before smirking at her.
"Are you asking me on a date doc?" I asked playfully, causing her to blush. "If so, the answer is yes."
"Good," Elsa smiled, looking elated. "So I will see you in a few days for our coffee date Anna." She took out a note pad and scribbled something down. "Here is my number," she said handing it to me.
"I am looking forward to it," I smiled back, tucking the paper somewhere safe. "And…thank you again, Elsa…for rescuing me."
"No problem, Anna," Elsa replied, before standing. "Well my shift is over but I will be back here early tomorrow morning to check on you. Take care and take an easy tonight, Okay?"
"I will Elsa, good night!" I waved good-bye as the blonde left the room. I didn't realize it then, but that was the moment that I knew I was falling for Elsa. She was just so caring, and warm, and beautiful and…I just can't wait for coffee date.
