Bare Their Souls In Their Words

A/N: Here's another little drabble-y ficlet. I am working my way up to writing a full one shot. Just trying to use these to get into the characters. Anyway, this is a bit of a Leyton, but it's in Lindsey's POV. This was odd. The idea was out there for me. Lindsey was not a character I was expecting to do. But I think I liked this, I'm not sure. Anyway, enjoy! R&R! Thanks! –Mac

Bare Their Souls In Their Words

Some writers string words together in an attempt to create mean, but give their words no significance because they fail to put any emotion or soul into their writing. It is the great writers who bare their souls in their words. They don't hope that their words bring something to life. They bring their words to life. If a reader can feel the emotion in the writing then a writer is truly accomplished.

Lucas Scott was a truly accomplished, great writer. I knew from the very first page. He put his heart and soul into his words and I could feel it. I felt like I had been there, like I had lived through his experiences. I felt what he felt. It was like I had known him for years instead of days, and knowing that deeper, sensitive, raw side of him made me love him more.

And that was how I knew when I read the draft for his second book. It was like a sudden burst of clarity. Lucas put his heart and soul into his words. He chose them carefully whether he realized it or not. Suddenly, I understood why he hadn't been able to write for so long. His heart and soul had been missing from his life because Peyton had it. He gave his heart to her and no matter how far away she was, she held it. With her back in his life, the words returned to him. I could feel it in his book. Peyton was his Comet, his renewed faith.

So he could say he loved me and me alone as many times as he pleased, but I knew otherwise. The truth was laid bare in his words. His soul longed only for her.
