Chapter 1-I watch
She won't make a sound
Alone in this fight with herself
And the fears whispering if she stands she'll fall down

Superchick – Stand In The Rain
I watch the cold rain drop as it dribbles down a leaf into the muddy puddle that sits beneath the plant waiting to swallow it whole. As I watch that single rain drop disappear into the pool, I know he will be back any second. I hear his footsteps as he approaches and watch as he kneels to brush strands of wet hair from my face. His warm fingers burn into my skin as he lifts me up from my fetal position into his strong wraps me in his arm bringing my soaking wet body to his warm form and for the first time today I feel something. I feel the warmth as it radiates from his body and watch as he hurriedly rushes me into the warm building. He gently smiles at me and waits for my approving nod before he starts peeling of my wet clothes and dress me in his warm clothes. Sometimes I wish I knew what they smelt like but nothing comes to me. He stares at me in the eyes again with a smile but the smile never reaches his eyes his ocean blue eyes. A single tear drop runs down the side of his turns away trying to hide it from me, but my face is already turned and my mind goes back to the rain drop. I wish I could break through the ice and for once reach into his world. I wish I could be the woman he sees when he looks at me. I watch as he lays me in the bed with me and the cold dark night surrounds me. I know he's already asleep as I trace a finger along his chiseled chin. I watch in the dark afraid to close my eyes because of the green eyes that stalk me in my sleep.
