This is probably done before, but here I am with another 'The Big four go to Hogwarts' story. Merida, Jack, Rapunzel and Hiccup will be eleven. Don't know if I'll add pairings. Also, English isn't my primary language, so there might be some mistakes. Sorry for that. Last but not least, obviously, this is an AU-story and some of the characters might be OOC, but I try to prevent that.

25-01 I decided to re-check this chapter and made a few changes

Prologue, Receiving Letters

Somewhere deep in a forest, in a high tower, lives a girl who dreamed of seeing the lights. A girl who dreamed of leaving her tower. A girl who dreamed of seeing the world. A girl with long blond hair and a dream.

Rapunzel

A blond haired girl slowly peeked over her chair to look at the mysterious bird. The little creature was staring at her from her windowsill. The bird had dropped a letter, but the little girl hadn't found the courage yet to look at it. Who would sent her a letter? It was not like anyone knew her.

Maybe it would be the best to wait until Mother was home. She'd knew what to do, right? Besides she'd be back in a few hours, the girl thought, so she could wait that long. Maybe. Perhaps.

The girl continued to stare at the little bird. It didn't leave. Was it waiting for her to open the letter? She sighed. Rapunzel knew that if she hadn't enough courage to open a letter, she'd never get to see the lights. It is just a letter. How hard could it be? The bird, an owl, stared at her with his big yellow eyes. It seemed nice. Rapunzel stood up and walked towards the owl with the letter. In the end her curiosity overcame her fear.

''Mrs Rapunzel, Tallest tower in the Forest, Corona,'' the envelope read. She took a deep breath and opened the letter.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Manfred Moon

(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock,
Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)

'Hogwarts, what a funny name' Rapunzel thought. She wondered what all those words actually meant. She'd never heard of a Mugwump heard. Pascal peered with huge eyes at the letter. After staring, because we can assume he didn't actually read it, he stared back at Rapunzel, pointing his tail to the letter, while staring at me. Rapunzel guessed he wanted her to read on. He was currently yellow, like the bird eyes, but was slowly adapting to her dress.

Only one thought went through her head:

I've been accepted for a school of witchcraft and wizardry!?
I've been accepted for a school of witchcraft and wizardry!?
I've been accepted for a school of witchcraft and wizardry.

That. Sounds… Wonderful!

The blond haired girl was happier than she'd ever been.

''Pascal,'' she said smiling to the currently blue chameleon, ''we're going to go to Hogwarts!''

Somewhere in the kingdom of Dunbroch another owl delivered a letter. This time to girl who didn't want to be a princess, a girl who wanted to have a life of her own. A girl who dreamed of changing her fate. Of creating her own destiny.

Merida
A young red haired girl was cleaning the stable of a horse. The girl's name was Merida and she was in a horrible mood.

''Ever since I turned ten, my mother kept going on and on about my duties as a princess. She controls every single day of my life. Every single thing about me had to be perfect.'' Merida said to her horse, Argus. ''Argh. She even tried to make me stop with archery. I can't! I love archery, it is the thing I'm the best at. But according to my mother it isn't something a proper lady should do.''

Merida and her mother didn't get along. They used to, when Merida was younger, but a few years ago her mother decided that things had to change. According to her mother, Merida had to act like a proper lady. And ladies do not practise archery, dress the way Merida did, eat the way she did. Pretty much everything Merida did was not lady-like…

''I miss the days that I could play around and have fun. These lessons, she keeps repeating them. Over and over again. And she never listens to a word a say. If she'd just listened once in a while.'' Merida continued while she was brushing Angus. Merida and her dad had made a deal, much to her mother's displeasure. If she took good care of Argus, she'd be allowed to ride him. That is when she was old enough. Right now she was too small. So for the past weeks she had been taking care of Argus and after a while she started talking to him.

''Hey Buddy,'' Merida said to him, '' a few more years and I'll be able to ride you. I can't wait.'' It seemed like he had heard me because he gave a happy neigh.

Merida ruffled his manes.

''Merida where are you?'' a voice called out. Merida's mother's voice, to be exact. ''Merida, a letter has arrived for you.''

Merida decided to keep ignoring her. If Elinor finds her, she would have to leave Angus.

''Merida, here you are.'' Queen Elinor said. Merida sighed. She had found her after all. ''A letter has arrived for you.''

Merida looked at the parchment in her hand, while silently hoping for some good news. Last time it had been an engagement invitation. My mother handed me the letter before turning around to leave.

''Merida, I expect you to be in the Great Hall in a few moments,'' My mother said, before she left the stables. ''We have important things to discuss.''

Guess Merida wouldn't have a free day after all. So she decided to read the letter.

''Ms Merida DunBroch, Royal stables of the DunBroch castle, DunBroch.'' She read out loud.

Merida realized that was the reason her mother knew where she was. But who would sent her letter, knowing exactly where she'd be, she wondered.

She decided to read on.

Apparently she had been accepted in some sort of a school. A school for witchcraft and wizardry. A place where her mother wouldn't control her life. A place where she could change her fate. Merida looked up at Angus and it seemed like he had guessed her thoughts. ''Angus,'' she said, addressing the horse. '' I think I'm going to change my fate.''

Somewhere in Berk, a boy dreamed to be more. To be a hero, like his father. He dreamed of slaying dragons, so that his father would be proud. So that his peers would become friends.

Hiccup

''This is Berk. It's twelve days north of Hopeless and a few degrees south of Freezing to Death. It's located solidly on the Meridian of Misery. My village. In a word, sturdy. It's been here for seven generations, but every single building is new. We have fishing, hunting, and a charming view of the sunset. The only problems are the pests. You see, most places have mice or mosquitoes. We have dragons! Most people would leave. Not us. We're Vikings. We have stubbornness issues.''

Stubbornness is one of the only things Hiccup had in common with the others Vikings. But that's also where it ends. Hiccup was small and scrawny, far more than any of the other boys his age. They were all strong and muscular and perhaps not exactly the wisest around. Hiccup was different. Instead of strong, he was clever and a bit odd. One could say the Vikings were one being. Everyone thought the same, did the same and even looked a bit the same. Except Hiccup.

So he was stuck making weapons. The other kids help with the Dragons. Their jobs are so much cooler, at least that's what Hiccup thought. While he was inside working all day, the other kids helped to protect the village. They put out fires, for example.

When Hiccup would be old enough, he was sure he would kill a dragon. Then they would definitely notice him. But for now he was still stuck here, making weapons. Crafting and creating new weapons was something Hiccup loved. You can guess, most of the other Vikings didn't. It wasn't really Vikingish.

(A/N: I have no idea if Vikingish is a word…)

But today Hiccup had a free day. Gobber didn't need him in the smithy. Hiccup could go to the forest, exploring. Another not so Vikingish hobby. When he walked to the forest, he couldn't help to have the feeling someone was following me. But each time he turned around, there was no one. Hiccup shacked off the feeling and continued his journey.

As he continued, he couldn't shake the feeling off after all. Whatever it was that was following him, kept following him. Slowly Hiccup turned around, fearing to see Snotlout, but only to see….

An owl. A small owl with a snow y white feathers.

''Great dragon slayer you're going to be one day, Hiccup,'' He said, ''While you're even afraid of an owl.''

The little owl stared at him with big blue eyes. That was the moment Hiccup noticed a letter tied to his claw. Who would sent an owl for a letter? That's quite silly.

''Mr Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, Walking in the Woods, Berk.''

All right, bit creepy, the letter was for him. Why would anyone send me a letter? Hiccup decided to open the letter. Or maybe he shouldn't, it might be just another joke of Snotlout. Well that would be rather impossible because Snotlout first had to learn how a pen worked, or the alphabet, for that matter. Hiccup doubted whether or not Snotlout could write his own name…

Dear Mr Horrendous Haddock the Third,

A school. Wow, just look at that list of equipment. Why would anyone give a broom? Do we have to clean the school?

''Maybe a new place is a good thing,'' Hiccup said, ''I mean, I've never heard of it, so I don't think there will be a lot of Vikings over there. What do you think?'' He asked the little owl, who seemed to ignore him and just stared back. ''That is, if it's not a joke…'' The owl continued to ignore him.

''Yeah, '' Hiccup said, ''I should probably go there, don't you think?''

Somewhere in Burgess, there was once a boy playing with his younger sister. A playful trickster, never seem to take life serious. He wanted to be seen, because no one ever noticed him. They'd prefer forgetting him.

Jack

Jack's life was filled with mysteries. He was odd. Different. And mostly ignored. But he didn't mind. He always remained the happy and cheerful prankster. One time someone made a remark about Jack's hair colour. The next day, a lot of people had a different hair colour. The prankster never got caught, which he likes to keep that way.

Jack was indeed a prankster.

For as long as Jack could remember his little sister had been the only one who didn't think he was some sort of a freak. Technically his parents didn't think so either, at least they said so, but Jack recognized the look in their eyes. They knew something was odd.

Pippa, Jack's sister, was too young to understand anything of it. Strange things tended to happen around Jack. Sometimes he wanted things to happen, like with the hair, but other times he didn't. For example, one time it started to snow, in the middle of the summer! And of course they blamed him. Everyone knew there was something different about Jack, but no one told him directly.

Jack heard something knocking on the window. So he turned around to look. For some reason there was an owl sitting outside the window. Which was quite odd, but there've been weirder stuff happening around Jack, so why not an owl. A weirder thing was the letter it had with him. Weren't pigeons the ones who were supposed to deliver letters?

Jack started reading.

''Mr Jackson Frost, Room, Burgess''

Jackson Frost? Jack was pretty sure his name was Frost Overland. Or Overland Frost. Anyway there was supposed to be a 'Overland' in it somewhere. Jack had never really understood that part. His sister is Pippa Overland, but for some reason his was Jackson Frost Overland. He had still not the slightest idea where the ''Frost'' came from…

Dear Mr Jackson Frost,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.

A wizard? That would explain a lot.

Instead of being surprised, Jack was calm. That must be why all these strange things would happen around him! There's a school filled with people like him! There are more people like him. For once Jack thought he wasn't alone anymore.

25-01: I changed a thing or two, but nothing really important. Also I placed a poll on my profile for the pairings. I'm checking my chapters, so I won't be updating any time soon. First I want to get rid of some mistakes
