I don't own Divergent, nor the characters in this story
The sun was shining brilliantly, reflecting beautifully on the clouds. It's warm rays were refracting around, creating intricate patterns. However, I wasn't noticing any of that. No, today was a bittersweet day that I'd been secretly longing for. Today was the day that I, Tris Prior, would finally be reacquainted with the object of my affections.
Seeing the light's rays intensify around a particular spot, I glanced apologetically at my friend and companion, Will, who had been waiting eagerly for much longer than I had.
Appearing before me, seemingly out of thin air, were dark blue eyes I'd been longing to see. It was followed by a nose covered with some freckles and a chin which had a scar on it.
With a grin, I saw his familiar dark brown hair and walked down to the area he stood.
"Hi there, stranger,' I grinned as I saw him blink up at me.
'Tris,' he whispered, his expression unreadable.
'Tobias,' I responded cautiously before I was swept into his strong arms into a tight hug.
Breathing in his intoxicating scent, I closed my eyes and wrapped my own arms around his torso. My mouth muffled by his shirt, I whispered, 'I missed you so much.'
'I missed you too,' Tobias responded before pulling slightly away from me and capturing my lips in his own.
Feeling his calloused hand gently hold my face, I couldn't help but smile into the kiss.
'This makes me almost forgive you for getting into that car accident,' I whispered as I blinked back my tears . I was finally with my parents, learning all kinds of amazing things about them, but he hadn't been there with me to learn too.
'Hey, it lead me to you,' Tobias grinned before taking my hand in his own.
'Yes, but it was reckless! You had Will and I worried sick!' I glowered back, finding the action harder than usual in my sheer joy.
'Will?' Tobias blinked, it's blue eyes searching our surroundings.
'Yeah, we've been waiting for you both together. Who else do you think decided to freak Chris out with filling her glass when she knew it was empty? And who do you think turned your heater off at night after you passed out?' I retorted, feeling a blush rise up to my cheeks.
'You two are evil! She thought she was going crazy!' Tobias let out a disbelieving laugh as Will came out of the shadows.
'I know you'll plan worse for Zeke,' I grinned before pulling him in for another kiss, winking subtly at Will, who rolled his eyes at my happiness.
All that I need now are my other friends and I'll be truly happy.
