Wasn't it once said that if you love someone you should let them go, if they return it was meant to be… unfortunately for Aaron Livesy his options were limited. If he let Jackson go he would never see him again for Jackson wanted to be let die.
Aaron found this idea hard to fathom, he loved Jackson more then he ever imagined possible and couldn't understand why Jackson was willing to leave him. But Jackson just kept saying 'you have to let me go'.
How do you let someone go when by letting them go you are extinguishing his life? Aaron just didn't know what to do. The fact that Jackson's mother was willing to help her son shrug off his mortal coil confused Aaron no end.
The worst moment of Aaron's short life was, not the day his boyfriend got hit by a train, or when his boyfriend was in a coma for two weeks, nor was it when they found out Jackson was going to be paralysed from the neck down. No, the worst day of Aaron's life was when he looked at Jackson's video diary and found out that the love of his life wanted to die. That day, well on that day a part of Aaron died too. His heart broke at the sadness emanating from his boyfriends face. The tears streaming down both faces, one on the screen pouring his heart out to a machine and the other looking at said machine seeing the hurt and pain and loss and helplessness his boyfriend felt from his situation.
Pretending he hadn't seen it didn't work, he needed to try to fix Jackson. Unfortunately, that just wasn't possible. When someone is that far gone, he is hard to reach. Jackson's mind was set, plans were made and everything was in place.
The love of Aarons life, the reason for his being, the face he saw behind closed eyes, the laugh and voice that mae his heart soar was soon to be no more.
Love, well sometimes love just isn't enough.
