Deathday Anniversary

Oliver silently made his way through the field wherein generations and generations of people were six feet under the ground. The moon was already high but at least the Frenchman found time off his busy schedule to pay respect to the dead.
After minutes of searching, he finally found what he was looking for. The place was shaded by a graceful cypress tree and the greenette rested there. His head was buried in his hands and his body shook with the force of his sobs.
"Hey Oliver…" Enrique greeted. "I guess it's that time of the year again…"
Oliver didn't answer and instead laid his head against the tree and fixed his tear-glazed eyes to the bright moon as he let out a shuddering sigh.
The Italian cocked his head to the side and pouted. "You aren't talking to me again…" he said in the tone of a jealous child.
The two sat in silence for a while before Enrique once more spoke.
"Hey—" he said with a growing smile. "You're wearing black! Before I used to hate it when you wore black but now you look damned hot!"
Tears trekked their way down the smooth slope of the French boy's cheek and the blonde was seized with an urge to wipe it off and make things better. But he knew very well that he couldn't.
He had been incapable of doing that comforting gesture for a very long time…
Then, Oliver stood up to leave.
"Oi!" Enrique exclaimed, startled. "Leaving so soon?"
Again, the greenette did not answer. He couldn't hear the question in the first place.
"Oliver!"
The Frenchman turned to take one last look at Enrique Giancarlo's tombstone. It had been three years since he died. Next year wouldn't make any difference whatsoever.
The blonde smiled sadly. "Thanks, by the way, for the flowers and the candles."
