"Mr. Italia! Mr. Italia!" a young child of about five or six run of her short legs to a small a thin brunet man.

"Si*, bella ragazza*" He turned his amber eyes onto her approaching figure. She came to face him and spun in a pink pinafore dress; its butterfly print fluttering in the breeze.

"Are you coming back again? My mother doesn't believe me when I tell her you're really Italia!" She pushed her cheeks out in a uncannily America-esque pout. The man called 'Italia' smiled at her.

"Is that so piccola signora*? I'm sorry your mamma* feels that way." He leaned down to her eye level. "But isn't it nice to have a secret with your own country?" She looked awe-struck at him.

"It sure is nice Mr. Italia! Does anybody else know who you are?" He gave her a sad smile.

"Sorry ragazza*, but only bellezze* like yourself know who I really am."

"Why, that's terrible! You're terribly Mr. Italia. I wish everyone could know about you! And if other countries are like you, there wouldn't have to be anymore fighting! Right? Right!" her round face was pink with excitement. She was about to say something else when a woman in her mid-thirties waved for her to come inside. The child hugged the brunet's legs and whispered,

"Non sarebbe fantastico*?" and ran off.

The man waved at her before walking off.

"Si bella," He turned and strode off into the setting sun as people chattered around him.

"Sarebbe una giornata meravigliosa*."
