Author's note: My friend Saavik and I were sugar high last night and decided to mess around with Lecter's speech to Clarice down in the dungeon. Enjoy, and please review!

The Cracked Truth

Chipmunk: You know what you look like to me with your brown top and your hard shell? You look like a nut. A well shone, delicious nut, with a lot of taste. Good nutrition's what you're filled with, but your no less than 24 feet off the ground, are you, little nut? And that flavor you tried so desperately to keep: pure yummy acorn. What kind of tree are you from, dear? Is it an oak tree? Does it overlook a field? All my crazed, endless searches through the leaves, while you could only dream of falling off, falling anywhere, falling all the way into the S…F…G… (Soft Fertile Ground)

Acorn: You dream a lot, chipmunk. But are you brave enough to climb all the way up here to get me? How 'bout it? Why don't… why don't you climb up here and get me yourself? Or maybe you're afraid to…

Chipmunk: A pinecone once tried to taunt me. I ate its insides, with some green leaves and a wild raspberry.
