Story of the Unwanted
It happened once again. I sat there in my game shop, annoyed and disappointed. I had finally gotten a decent grade in literature and no one seemed to care. But what could I say, no one ever did.
Life always seem to turn on me whenever I had achieved something. It seemed as if the people that never achieved anything always seemed to get everything.
Take Yugi Motou for one thing, a little shrimp who depends on a spirit to do his duels. Me? I did my duels. Won them too. But does anyone care? No!
Even though I seem to be part of Yugi's little circle of friends, no one really cared. All I have is a crush and a enemy. That's all I've ever gained being friends with Yugi.
I walked over to the front of my game shop and turned the sign to closed as I exited my shop. I locked the door and ventured out into the world that didn't want me.
I watched as the cars flew by as I walked on the sidewalk. I noticed Yugi and Joey when I walked by Domino Park.
"Hey Duke!" Yugi called out and waved. I ignored them.
"Hey Duke, answer Yugi ya jerk!" Joey called over. A force of anger flew through me. How could I say that when all they would do for me was say hi and forget me. Everyone seemed to be so much more important then me.
I looked at my watch. Luckily it was almost time for my stroll with Serenity. Joey never usually allows me to call it a "date." But if I really wanted I could slap him some sense. But I guess I didn't feel much up to it.
I looked over and saw Serenity across the road from me. And you wouldn't believe she was with on our date. Tristan. Serenity waved to me. I refused to wave back. I turned and kept walking.
I could still get a glance at Serenity's face as I left her with that jerk. I didn't care anymore. why should I?
I walked over to one of the most dangerous highways in Domino. I watched as the cars drove by. What would it take? What would it take to just walk into that street and leave this crummy world?
I made that decision quickly as I stepped off the curb of the street. I turned to see a white car that would definitely kill me when it hit. I closed my eyes and waited for the impact.
I could hear the screech of the car as it tried to stop. I knew it would hit me no mater what. But for some reason I wasn't hit by the car. I was hit to the side before the car had hit. I was about to yell at the person who had stopped me from leaving.
I turned to see a girl across from the car. Not just any girl, but Serenity. Fear and pain flew through my body as one of the drivers called a ambulance. I ran over to the one person in the world that saved me. The one person who cared. The one person who I loved.
"Why?" I asked softly to the motionless body.
"Because I love you." Serenity said weakly closing her eyes. I held her in my arms as the ambulance pulled in and took her from me. ************************************************************* My step brother gave me the idea to write this because he likes Duke.
