BEAUTIFUL AND BAD
DISCLAIMER
Life With Derek belongs to Canadian Television. Title comes from a line in Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, which belongs to Wes Craven and New Line Cinema. Takes place pre-Welcome To My Nightmare, but not really during an actual ep of LWD.
Casey MacDonald rolled her eyes at the umpteenth insult from her stepbrother, Derek Venturi. As usual, he was making fun of her constant study habits and dress choice.
"Der-ek!" she yelled in annoyance, like everyone expected her to. In actuality, she wanted to laugh. Her life? Boring? She studied twenty-four/seven? Oh, if they only knew. If her family and friends could only see into her dreams. If they could, they'd see a confident girl watching over them, keeping them safe from nightmares. But they didn't because she kept it from them. Oh, she could've let them see inside her head if she wanted to, but they wouldn't understand. She watched as Derek smirked, certain that he had one-upped her yet again.
"Face it, Casey. You're boring, dull, and it's only a matter of time before Max comes to his senses and dumps you," Derek sneered. Casey's throat muscles constricted slightly. Okay, now that hurt.
"Derek! That is enough!" George chided. Casey threw her stepfather a grateful smile. Then, she tossed her head, causing her hair to fall along her shoulders.
"Trust me Derek, I have a more interesting life than you any day," she commented. Derek scoffed.
"Right. In your dreams---and I bet even those are boring," he sneered. She just gave him a smug smile.
"Derek, you couldn't handle being in my dreams," she told him, and then headed off before he could answer. Casey laughed to herself. Derek had no clue what he was talking about. He wouldn't even recognize her if he saw her in one of her dreams. Because in her dreams, she was beautiful…and bad.
