Forever and Always
JasperPOV
I was in my office, signing some papers that needed to be signed. It was almost 1pm… Just then, I heard my cell phone ring. I took it out of my pocket and looked at the caller ID. It was Alice's doctor. You see, Alice is my wife and she has breast cancer. And she has a very bad case of breast cancer. I wondered why he was calling at such a late hour. I pushed the answer button.
"Hello?" I asked, unsure if I should be worried or relieved that he has called.
"Hello, Mr. Hale. I happen to be calling you because I have news to tell you about your wife," Dr. Cullen said to me in a blank tone.
"What is it?" I asked, suddenly worried about my wife's condition.
"I think it would be best if we talked about it in the hospital…" he told me.
"I'll be right there." I said as I hung up and grabbed my car keys.
When I arrived at the hospital, I went straight inside Alice's hospital room where I found Dr. Cullen waiting for me.
"Mr. Hale, your wife-," I cut him off. I noticed that Alice wasn't in her hospital bed.
"Where is my wife? Dr. Cullen, where is my wife?" I asked him, my voice filled with worry and sadness…I could also feel my eyes starting to water. I couldn't bear having life without Alice. She was my life.
At that moment, I heard the faucet in the hospital room's bathroom being turned on and a few seconds later, I heard it being turned off. After that, everything happened in slow motion yet, it happened so fast.
The bathroom door was opened and out came a woman. The woman was the woman I loved. That woman was the one that gave me a reason to live. That woman was Alice.
I stared at her, eyes wide with shock and happiness. She stared back, grinning the biggest grin I have seen her grin. She ran up to me and hugged me in a tight hug. She had tears rolling down her cheek.
"Jasper. Jasper. Jasper. I love you." She said as she hugged me. I kissed he forehead.
"I love you too, honey," and with that, I picked her up and twirled her up in the air and said, "You're alright. You're okay. You're CURED." I practically sang out in joy.
"I'm glad to see that everything's okay," Dr. Cullen said.
I set Alice down and held her hand while turning to face Dr. Cullen.
"I couldn't thank you enough, Dr. Cullen," I said to him.
"It's my pleasure, Mr. Hale. And I guess I should be leaving you two alone," he said to us.
"Thank you so much, Dr. Cullen," Alice's soft voice told him.
"Like I said, it's my pleasure," Dr. Cullen said. Then he walked out of the room.
"Alice," I said to her, grinning like a goof.
"Yes, Jasper?" She said.
"I love you,"
"I love you too,"
"You know what?"
"What?"
"I promise you that I will be there for you forever and always," I promised her sincerely.
"Forever and always?" she repeated.
"Forever and always," I said. I pulled her in for a hug and she rested her head on my chest. Then I remembered something, "Alice?"
"Yes?" She said.
"Why were you in the bathroom?"
"I needed a…a…a potty break…" She blushed.
I chuckled. I pulled her in for a kiss on her soft lips. This day couldn't get any better.
