AN: I do not own D. Gray-Man or Harry Potter. D. Gray-Man belongs to the brilliant Katsura Hoshino, and Harry Potter belongs to the equally brilliant J.K. Rowling.
Farwell, Hello – Prologue
"Allen!" A shadow turned away from the harsh, blinding light that outlined him.
"Lenalee." A weeping girl pushed through the undergrowth that encircled the clearing.
"Why? Why are you leaving us? Aren't we your friends? Isn't the Black Order your home?"
"I don't belong here anymore. You'll always be my friends, but it's time for me to go. I'm sorry."
The shadow turned again to face the white diamonds that sliced through the night sky. He held out a gloved hand, palm facing upwards, and hummed a slow, wistful melody. The diamonds seemed almost to resonate with the song, growing larger and shining more brightly than any light the girl had ever seen before. The shadow gave her one last sad smile and then raised his other hand to his face. When he lifted it, she could no longer see his face, for it was hidden by a gleaming masquerade mask.
"Goodbye."

In the staff room of Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Sybill Trelawney rose to her feet with a gasp, startling all the other professors who had gathered for the summer conference – all, that is, but one. Albus Dumbledore simply peered over the tops of his half-moon spectacles, his twinkling blue eyes growing solemn at the Divination professor's sudden fit.
"He is coming," she croaked, her large eyes appearing enormous behind her magnifying spectacles, "The Destroyer of Time is coming. And he brings death and devastation with him."
