It was hot inside the small, cramp tent. There was barely enough room for two in the tent, causing the two men to squeeze in close together. Neither of them minded though. They were use to close contact with each other.
"Kensei…" Hiro blushed and lightly tugged on the man's sleeve to get his attention. "Kensei, please."
His pleading caught the man's attention. "Please what, Carp?" Kensei murmured. As naïve has Hiro is, Kensei doubted he even knew what it was he was begging so badly for. The blush on the smaller man's face was telling him a different story though.
"Kensei, I love you. Very much so."
Kensei placed his hand on Hiro's neck. He was looking down at his Carp, seeing him clearly. He was innocent. He was kind. He was gentle and wise and everything else you would want. He was a Hero. But best of all, he was Kensei's.
"I love you too, Carp. Very much so."

Takezo Kensei sat up in bed. That was the weirdest dream he had ever had. It made sense though. Lately, when he looked at Hiro, he saw him differently. He saw him like he had never seen another man before. Like…Like he saw women. Like he had thought he had seen Yaeko.
Kensei rolled over on his side to gaze at the man beside him. Hiro was fast asleep-it was the middle of the night. Kensei pondered his dream a little longer before deciding he would talk to Hiro about it in the morning. For now he needed some rest. And possibly some sake. No, no saki. Hiro wouldn't approve. So, just the rest then.
That was the night before Kensei caught Yaeko and Hiro kissing.
That was the night before Kensei had felt more pain than any man should ever feel.
That was the night before Kensei ended his friendship with Hiro.
That was the night before Kensei became a villain.
