Percy's POV:
I woke up to the sound of one of the newer Hermes kids rushing into my cabin. I looked over at the clock and saw 2:00 am.
"What?"
"A girl just showed up a few minutes ago."
"Oh…right."
Ever since I made the gods swear on The River Styx two months ago that they'd claim all their kids we have gotten kids just pouring in by the dozen, being claimed moments later, and taken off to their cabins to meet their new siblings. Annabeth and I had gotten stuck with the job of explaining to the newbies that gods exist, you're a demigod, blah, blah, blah. After a while it just gets really annoying, what with the Ares kids always telling you that you're a stupid psycho and the kids not believing you even after you show them proof. You'd think that after seeing a hellhound, a centaur, a god, and a hydra you'd probably believe the kids at the weird camp but no. Of course not. I put on some shoes and ran out to meet Annabeth and everyone at the base of Half-Blood Hill.
"Hey, Percy."
"Hey Annabeth. So do we know who's kid it is?"
"No actually"
That was certainly odd. Usually the kid is claimed almost immediately after crossing the border. I walked over to the girl and saw that she was about eleven. Twelve years old. What really caught my attention was that in a word, she was, well, a hippie. Long blonde hair, peasant skirt, flowers in her hair, everything. She was really pretty too. I glanced over at Annabeth and saw her frowning. I took her hand reassuringly and she smiled up at me.
"So what's your name?"
"Lily. It means Majesty."
"Oh… I didn't know that."
"Yeah. I'm really into flowers and nature and springtime and---"
"Why are you here?"
"My dad disappeared one month, fourteen days, eleven hours, and fourteen minutes ago."
Annabeth looked shocked as did most of the campers. That was impressive.
"When he went missing I had a weird urge to come here even though I've never been here but you probably know that and I---"
"Shut up!"
I turned around trying to look angry but I was secretly relieved. I immediately saw Clarisse standing frozen there in what looked like shock. I look to her right and saw the speaker standing there glaring at Lily.
"Nico?!"
I started laughing in disbelief. He may not be the happy little boy he once was but he never said things like that.
After I explained to her everything of our world (she was awesome with it, believing us instantly) I went back to bed.
