It was a foggy night in Misthallery. Actually, "foggy" didn't do justice to the scene; it was more like standing in a cloud so thick it was impossible to see anything even a foot away. That was exactly how Descole wanted it. This way, even if someone was, for some unfathomable reason, still in the area, no one would see his Specter Robot for what it was. It would not go well if anyone discovered that the "specter" destroying the town was actually a creation of his attempting to unearth the Golden Garden. He was having enough trouble as it was…

THUD!

Descole muttered a curse. It was back. That...prehistoric sea creature...had been appearing every time he attempted to find the Garden, and it relentlessly attacked his machine. How was he to find anything when he was busy fending off the attacks of some crazy manatee?

The robot struck the creature, but the aquatic animal was surprisingly resilient, barely pausing before throwing itself at the machine again.

This was going to be another long night, and the unnecessary destruction caused by the fighting might attract unwanted attention…

=^w^=

Descole made some modifications to the Specter Robot, intending to make it more able to fend off that sea monster that still persisted in getting in the way. Whether it would actually help, he wouldn't know until he saw it in action, but now, it had to be tested to ensure that it was functioning well enough. He had taken his creation a safe distance from Misthallery for this reason, but the test didn't go as well as he had hoped…

Suddenly the robot tilted dangerously sideways, and the scientist barely managed to throw himself clear before falling. He grimaced at the mud stain now covering his entire right side—that would be a pain to clean, but fortunately he had abandoned his cape and boa for the time being—before gracelessly scrambling to his feet and noting with extreme irritation that a sinkhole had opened beneath his machine.

"You were made to find the Garden, but you can't even handle a little mud? Thanks for nothing, you useless chunk of metal," he seethed.

Just then, a bird flew overhead and dropped a little "present" on the Specter Robot.

Descole wanted to scream.

A/N: Heh… Did he scream, you may wonder? Maybe you'll never know… If a tree falls in the forest and nobody's there to hear it, does it still make a sound?

As I mentioned in my last upload, "Is All Music the Same?" (which you may not have read, since it's Hetalia, I don't know), I've started to take little writing suggestions/prompts and writing a short fic of the first thing they make me think of. The prompt I used for this was "Nature vs Robots". So that's how I came up with the title. Wow, I'm creative.

I've got a couple more suggestions I'll be writing, but please feel free to give me more! I'm actually quite enjoying this~

Review please~?
