"You do know what day it is, right?" River asked.
She was in the cargo hold watching Jayne lift weights. Small beads of sweat dripped down his neck and bare chest. Anticipation was eating away at her. With one hand behind her back, she was standing directly in front of the merc.
"Shr ah, Valentine's day. So what?" He grunted.
"So, I have something for you."
He put his weights down and looked around to see if anyone was near to get rid of the little crazy girl. She was disturbing his "me time". He looked up at the girl's pale, round, face, which was now only a few inches away from his. In her mouth, between her teeth, was a small square of chocolate.
"You know you want it." She raised her eyebrows encouragingly. "Take it before it melts."
At that moment, Jayne wanted that piece of candy more than anything. Without thinking, he put his lips to hers and took the chocolate square into his mouth.
River pressed her lips fiercely against his with a kiss.
"Happy Valentine's day." She smiled. She took another chocolate from a pink heart shaped box, which she had stolen from Inara, and put it between her teeth.
"Ai ya, it sure is." He smiled as he swallowed the candy and leaned in to take another from her mouth.
