A/N: Wrote this around three in the morning. Hope you like it! Happy "SINGLE'S" Day, readers! R&R

She saw him at the basketball court in the park. Sweat was dripping all over his svelte body yet he didn't seem to mind. She inched in a bit closer to the fence. There he was, pilfering her heart all over again without even trying. His movement was smooth, not too forceful or too gentle. Amazing, she thought. His feet move as though he was dancing ballet with basketball shoes on. He was simply astonishing.

She bit her lower lip as her heart pounded rowdily against her chest. Butterflies scattered in her stomach. "Now is the time, Haruko." she whispered to herself, "You have to do it now." She mustered all the courage and strength she had in her petite frame. With a deep breath, she went to the other side of the fence. He didn't seem to notice her. He never noticed her. She sighed.

A fade away shot. Perfect, as expected. His dark azure eyes showed nothing but determination. She asked herself, what could he possible be thinking of right now? He stopped for a while, wiping his perspiring forehead with a wristband. He grabbed the ball and dribbled it for the meantime.

"Rukawa-kun, good morning." she greeted with a soft smile.

He merely looked her way then shrugged. He walked towards his belongings and took out a white hand towel. He dabbed his face down to his neck. He was completely ignoring her. It was very awkward for her to be in this kind of position. She had to talk to him. She'd be satisfied if he would even greet her back but he didn't.

"Uh… that was a very nice shot." her face was beet red.

"Un." He continued to wipe his sweat.

No emotions, no expressions. It was like talking to a stone. It was the 14th of February; she wanted to give him some chocolates, handmade chocolate. Faltering, she reached inside her bag for a small red box with a white ribbon sealing it. She momentarily closed her eyes, talking herself through it. She wanted to give it to him right there and then but her nervousness won't let her.

"Rukawa-kun!" She called out as she saw him making his way out of the court.

He glanced behind him, thinking that he probably left something behind. His eyes still showed no feelings. She hurriedly went to him. Her hands were trembling. Her heart was jumping up and down. Her throat tightened making it difficult to speak clearly.

"Please accept this." She bowed and extended her arms towards him.

"Huh?" he questioned, looking at the item. "What's this?"

She was surprised. She stood stiff and gazed at him as though she found light after walking through a dark tunnel. He finally talked to her! She couldn't help but feel very ecstatic about it. Her face lit up with joy and contentment. Yet she was still jumpy.

"A box of chocolates for Valentine's Day." she replied with a very quiet voice.

"Ah." He quickly muttered thanks.

He got on his bike and began to slowly pedal away as if he was waiting for something else. He might have known or felt that there was something missing or he might not have. Nevertheless, he pedaled, further and further away from the brunette.

"Rukawa-kun, I love you!" her heart and mind yelled but in reality she couldn't bring herself to do such thing.

And at the end of the day, there were those who got lucky and those who didn't. At the very least, there was still a person who got what he wanted for that day: a box of heart-shaped chocolates from the girl he likes best.

A/N: I wonder who that guy could be. XD Anyway, thanks for reading! Please don't forget to write a review, ok? Thanks again and enjoy the rest of the day!
