How the final sickbay scene from UZ2 should have played out.

Doctor's voiceover same.
Camera pans around showing Tuvok and B'Elanna asleep, then pans over to show the Captain sitting up on her biobed propped up with pillows, computer terminal easily accessible, coffee cup in one hand. A vase containing one red rose sits beside the computer terminal.
Commander (Acting Captain) Chakotay sits with one hip propped up on her bed. He has her left hand in his right one and they are smiling at each other, talking quietly.
Seven of Nine comes into the scene, walks around Chakotay and stands beside Janeway. They both look over at her.
"Captain, Commander," Seven nods at them both. She then turns towards the Captain and says, "I came by to give you an update and…to see how you were progressing."
At this, Chakotay stands up, and still holding Kathryn's hand he says to her, "Well, I better get up to the bridge. I wouldn't want my acting First Officer to put me on report for being late. Besides," he says, his glance flickering over toward B'Elanna lying asleep on a biobed, "I think he has some visiting to do of his own." He squeezes her hand and continues softly, "I'll see you after my shift."
Kathryn squeezes his hand back, smiles at him and says, "Thank you." Her eyes darting over to indicate the rose in the vase.
Chakotay grins and winks at her. Releasing her hand, he nods at Seven and walks out of sickbay.
Janeway looks up at Seven expecting to see disapproval in her eyes, but all she sees is understanding and a rare softness in her expression.
She hands Janeway a PADD and tells her information about General K'Rok.
Janeway tries to sit up to read the PADD and then grimaces and cries out a little in pain.
"The doctor removed my spinal clamps. But, it'll be a while before I play hoverball again.
She continues, shaking her finger at Seven. "If I ever implied that it's been easy on you these past few years, remind me about today."
"Noted," Seven replies.
Janeway looks down at the PADD Seven has handed to her and says with satisfaction.
"Well, Unimatix Zero may be gone, but it looks like the resistance is alive and kicking. With any luck the collective may never be the same."
"K'Rok says that he would try to maintain contact. Keep us informed." Seven informs her.
Janeway's voice softens as she looks up at Seven, "Have you heard from your friend?"
"No. But I don't expect to. Axum's vessel is in a remote section of the BETA quadrant.
Seven looks down, a small smile flickering across her lips.
"If I ever imply that he was nothing more then a friend, remind me of this day."
Hearing Seven's words, Kathryn's gaze shifts between the rose beside her terminal and the doors to sickbay. The doors Commander Chakotay had so recently exited.
"Noted," Janeway says distractedly.
Seven notices her glance and the faraway look in her eyes. "And I'll do the same for you," she smirks.
Janeway turns to glare at Seven, but her glare quickly turns into a sheepish grin.
"Noted," she says looking down briefly.
She looks back up at the former Borg and they both share a huge grin.
Fade out to Voyager flying across space.
