As water ripples along your feet
You wave goodbye to the mermaid you long to meet.

You sit on the rocks catching water in your hand
And you make hearts are flowers in the sand.

And you let the wind catch your hair
And smell the sea salt in the air.

You skip a pebble across the water's soft top,
It takes seven leaps before it finally stops.

And you watch your daughter catch a frog
And your young son leap over a log.

And your husband sitting with his cell phone
Hoping his boss will pick up at the sound of the tone.

'Why can't he enjoy his time here' you ask in your head
because you know he is wishing to be at home in his bed.

But this is your favorite stop since you where young
When you sat in the same spot and caught the sea spray with your tongue

And now you hope your children say
"Mummy Mummy, can we stay?"

But you know your husband will say no,
"Come on, shut up, its time to go."

And you will pill into the car
And your husband will go back to Charlie's bar.

You only wish you could make his see
'how much this place means to me'
