Blackbird

By: Jaiden Lockheart

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night…

…Take these broken wings and learn to fly…

…all your life…

…you were only waiting for this moment to arise…"

The words flitted across his ear, stirring his mussed raven hair and making him shiver. A tanned hand traveled down the length of his pale arm, taking his own hand and entwining their fingers. They fit together perfectly, it seemed, and he let his obsidian eyes fall shut as he listened, intently, as Naruto continued to sing.

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night…

…take these sunken eyes and learn to see…

…all your life…

…you were only waiting for this moment to be free…"

Lips brushed against the nape of his neck, his back pressed closely to a bare chest. Their legs were tangled with the red silk sheets, an Uchiha fan distorted between their knees. His head lay in the crook of Naruto's elbow and he leaned forward to press his chapped lips to the soft skin, feeling the scars of battles long past underneath his touch. Battles that had been only for him.

"Blackbird fly…

…Blackbird fly…

…Into the light of the dark black night…"

He would never be able to tell Naruto how grateful he was, how grateful he always will be. He felt liberated, free for the first time in his very short life. But he hoped the blonde had been able to take his pleasured moans, his arches into the other's hands, his legs wrapping around sturdy hips to be his way of saying thank you, for everything.

"Blackbird fly…

…Blackbird fly…

…Into the light of the dark black night…"

He fell asleep, just like always, his breathing evening to match the rise and fall of the chest he was pulled closer to. He let a smile ghost over his lips in the dark of the night surrounding them, a cold night, but he felt nothing but the warmth of the other's body.

It was crazy how easily he'd fallen in love.

Note: Another oneshot by moi. This one is much fluffier than the ones I've written in the past. It was my birthday yesterday, and a wonderful birthday it was, and Valentine's day has not been too bad for me this year either. I know that this was originally a beatles song, but for this fic I was more referring to Evan Rachel Woods' cover of it for the movie Across the Universe. I don't really prefer one version over the other(It's a beautiful song no matter who's singing it), but the latter version just seemed to fit more.

Reviews are love,
