Challenge of Our Rival
Selina Kyle awoke, happily greeting the morning sunlight pouring through her bedroom's windows. Pulling a bathrobe around her, she went to the kitchen, and started preparing breakfast, while reminiscing on the events of the night before.
"Meow!" Selina looked down with a smile. "Good morning, Isis! Is my little cat ready for food?" "Meow!" "Hold on then. I'll get it ready."
The smile changed, slowly, into a smirk.
The museum had a special exhibit on Egyptian Cat artifacts, something the famous Catwoman couldn't resist; especially the Cat's Eyes Diamonds. True, she hadn't expected the adversary she encountered; Batman would have been expected, the opposing thief was not. However, the encounter had certainly favored her.
"Merrwwrr." Isis happily started on her breakfast. Selina moved to the refrigerator, and, selecting a bottle of cream, poured herself a generous glassful.
The smirk changed, slowly, into a smug, self-satisfied grin.
Catwoman was the one who had successfully grabbed the diamonds, the red-coated woman that was her opponent being just slightly too slow, lacking Catwoman's feline agility.
The smug, self-satisfied grin changed, slowly, into a triumphant sneer.
Catwoman had taunted her opponent, just like she did all challengers. "No-one defeats the Catwoman when it comes to felines, Dearie! Just try to top me!"
"Well, Isis, let's see if last night's caper made the headlines, shall we?" "Mew!" "That's right! You said it Isis! No one's better than me!"
Flicking on the television, Selina took a seat, while Isis curled up at her feet. Changing to the news station, she took a deep draught of the cream.
"And we're coming to you live from Egypt, where, in the early hours of the morning, it was confirmed, that the Sphinx , that's right, the entire Sphinx itself, was stolen by Carmen Sandiego!"
The tranquil, morning, air was filled with a coughing, choking sound, while the television's picture became blurry, due to the large amount of milk slowly dripping down the screen.
