The moon shines softly
And as you look out you and hear them
The whispers in the air
The laughing of the stars.
Catching some dust drifting in the wind
You smell the lilies and the roses
And the fresh scent of the night.
Your hair rises as the wind picks it up
And you sigh at the colors of the sky.
Your eyes slowly close as the hum commences
And you think of the nights you used to run away
To the fields full of beauty and full of light
As you would dance with the fairies and elves.
You remember the soft blowing of air touching your face
So young you where, yet you understood
Now you open your eyes, and watch your daughter do the same
She looks at you, and a smile appears on her bright face
And she seems to say
Thank you the gift of life
And you smile back and do not tell her to come inside
Yet, let her choose her way.
Tomorrow, it will be the same.
Tomorrow, your son will join in the dance of the wind.
Tomorrow the moon shines softly
And as you will look out you an hear them
The whispers in the air
And the laughing of the stars.
