Just as small drabble I found in the vastness of the internet. Something cute, a bit fluffy and stupid, but it certainly lights up the mood. I kinda miss writing, but it's actually hard to just sit down and write something of my own. I got stuck with a lot of scattered ideas I can't really pull together. So here's another fic I translated (but added small, tiny changes here and there to keep the rating down), hope you enjoy.
Disclamer: Hey Arnold! belongs to Craig bartlett. The original text of this fanfiction is by DarkMoon257 (*Translated from Russian)
"Arnold Shortman! That's it, footballhead! I've had enough. We're breaking up! This is the end! Do you hear me?" – Helga Pataki yelled at her boyfriend. "I can't take it anymore."
As soon as she uttered those words the sky felt like the thunder was about to blow. It was something Helga never would've thought she'd say someday.
Arnold calmly looked at Helga, and then looked away to the side. All the thoughts jumbled in his mind, and he didn't know what to do. Usually he'd been dumped by girls (and he was pretty okay with it), but not as quite as her. He saw something he couldn't in anyone else but her. So the guy did the first thing that came to his mind.
He walked over to Helga and kissed her tenderly. At first she froze in surprise but then responded to the kiss. When they finally pulled away from each other, Arnold smiled a little and brushed off the hair from her face.
"Feeling any better?" – Helga just nodded quickly at that and looked at him as his signature smile appeared on his cute oblong face.
"Even if you ever say that again, well, about us breaking up, I won't let that happen."
"Why?"
"Cause I love you." – he whispered as she buried her nose in his cornflower hair.
"I'm sorry. You've got no idea how much you mean to me, how precious you are, footballhead."
It's been two years since the beginning of their relationship. Although not so many people knew about it. Probably only their closest friends.
Either way Arnold still found time to chat with other girls from time to time. For whatever reason they were glued to him like never before especially when he was younger. Lila, for example, was always the first one to show up at the baseball practice, some other girls from parallel classes Arnold didn't know used to come as well. Who wouldn't want to spend time with this gorgeous, handsome, pumped up baseball player? Sure thing, Helga wasn't jealous. But who was she kidding? She was terribly jealous. And she kept all that poem books and a locket. And her shrines and stuff. And Arnold knew about it.
As Helga was standing and pretending to actually enjoy Phoebe's small talk on latest Physics homework when she actually found herself disconnected from the conversation watching Arnold sending small smiles to some other girls (seems like they were his fans). Every single second Helga was doing the best she could not to just go and introduce them to Ol'Betsy and Five Avengers. Come on, how dare they?
The next second Arnold saw Helga being on the verge of exploding he smiled at her. He smiled differently. With a smile he kept for her and for her only. So she could understand that they're okay and everything's okay between them. He pulled out his phone and texted her:
"You're really cute when you're mad."
The only reaction was not long in coming as she stuck tongue out at him.
But even in this case he gave her an immediate answer: his signature smile.
