Mari awoke to the cries of his child, Faith. He sighed. She always had nightmares when she started with him. They weren't so frequent with her mother. But, regardless of how tied he was, or how little sleep he was going to get, he got up, and went to Faith's bed.

"Faith, honey, did you have a nightmare?"

"Mhm," she sniffled. "Can you sing me another lullaby? A new one?"

"I've sung you every lullaby I know!"

"Can you make one up?"

"Uh, I suppose so," he sighed. "Now, how to start... ah, I think I know."

He left the room for a second, leaving the black vixen to whimper on her own, before returning with a mini piano.

"Just let me, aha! There we go!"

He tapped a small button on the top of the piano, and a sweet melody started to play.

Hushabye, baby, hushabye now,

Faith gave a small, sleepy giggle at her father's cute lullaby.

Hushabye, baby, no need to frown

She started to smile, knowing how much thought he must have put in to come up with it.

Hushabye, child, you are quite safe,

Her eye lids started drooping, falling asleep to the sound of the lullaby.

Hushabye, child, hushabye my dear Faith

As he sang the last note, Mari looked down at his daughter and saw her asleep. He wasn't disturbed again the whole night.
