Many people knew that Doctor Vegapunk was one of the best, if not the best, scientists the world had. He was known for many discoveries and inventions. Many of achievements include the usage of Seastones, discovering the secrets of Devil Fruits, advanced weaponry and creating artificial lifeforms and discovering the Lineage Factor. However, his most succsesful achivement would be probably the secret project he, and only he, knew.
He tried to create artificial humans. But, unlike cyborgs, they would have the same body as a normal human, just more enchanted. He used the many characters from many different legends about heroes. He even created one for himself, to act as his guard.
The goal of them, called Heroes was to not only stop the corrupted Marines, but also to finnaly threw the World Nobles from their thrones. Vegapunk spent years of searching for the materials to create them. He didn't manage to create every one he planned, but he did manage to create a good number of them. When the first one was finished, the one that would act as his personal guard, he managed to trick the Marines into helping him test the first. And the results were far from what he expected.
The first managed to take down every challange sent to him with no problem and very destructive power. Vegapunk knew that with the right time, they would make real peacemakers. But the plan was quiclky turned into a mere dream.
After he finished with modeling each Hero and giving them their powers, he installed them their personalities and thoughts from what he read in their legends and thoughts. And then all chaos broke loose.
The moment all of them gained their own thoughts and personalities, they broke free from the lab and began to take their own paths. Vegapunk desperatly tried to get them back, but they simply walked away. Returning back inside his lab, he saw that the first one was still there, but something was not right about him.
Maybe it was the fact that he named himself Free.
Or maybe the fact that he wore a new outfit.
Or was it the fact that he looked pretty bored and was laying one a coutch while eating some chips.
After confronting him, Vegapunk realised that the now named Free, the first Hero, was a lot stronger that most of the other Heros. But he was pretty lazy in doing anything. Vegapunk knew that he didn't have any control of any Hero, so he let Free go. Free decided to stay with him for a few more days, which he meant as being a free-loader.
After a few days, Vegapunk manage to send Free to the only person who could keep the secret of the Hero Project, one of the highest Marines he knew. Or more specific, two of them.
After Garp and Sengoku found out about the Hero Project and were informed about Free, they did keep it a secret from the rest of the world. They didn't have to worry about the other Hero's since they would only attack, or more specific kill, if they are provoced.
After Free arrived in Marine HQ, he was greeted by the two Fleet Admirals (that is their Rank, right?). They showed him around the island and gave him a place to stay and food to eat, including the freedome to walk around the island, as long as he stayed out of sight.
Soon, Garp and Sengoku learned the reason why Vegapunk sent Free to them. He was a pure chaos magnet.
There wasn't a day where he wouldn't do any trouble. He once even ate all of the food storage out of boredom. If he meet a Warlord, he would pick a fight with them. And it would either we stoped by Garp and/or Sengoku or they would fight. In most cases Free would win.
Seeing that Vegapunk threw them under a super powered bus, Garp came to a solid conclusion.
He will send him to act as the babysitter of his 3 grandson's. And that lead to this moment.

"Can you tell me again why are we here?" came the bored tone of a boy who looked to be around 18. He had black hair with a single blond lock that feel inbettwean his yellow eyes. His hair is styled like Alucard, just shorter. He wore a thin black jacket with a hood that didn't have a sleeve on his right hand. Under the jacket he had a simple white undershirt. He also wore black jeans. That was Free as he followed the older Marine.
"To see my idiot grandson's of course. I need someone to tell them that being a marine is better that a Pirate! And who better that a person who was a fre-loader at our HQ!" said a bemused Garp as they neared a wooden house in the forest. "Now wait for a moment." said Garp as he approached the house.
Free didn't even bother to listen to the conversation that was happening as he looked around. Suddenly, he sensed something approaching him as his eyes snaped to the approaching, or more likely thrown object, heading for his head.
He didn't even bother as he lazily raised his hand as catched the object, which revealed to be a mudball filled with rocks. He looked at it and then scaned the forest around him.
Once he looked around the entire area, he suddenly dissapeared.
(In the forest)
"Do you see him?!"
"No! How can someone dissapear so fast?!"
"How should I know?! Even Gramps is not that fast when he is chasing us!"
What you just heard was the sound of three kids hiding in a bush in the forest. They looked around as a large pille of mudball was besides them.
"You sure he just dissapeared?" asked one of the three kids, Sabo the youngest of them.
"I swear he just stood there, caught the mudball and then dissapeared!" defended himself Luffy as Ace looked around in hopes of trying to find Free.
"We both know that Luffy isn't a person who knows how to lie." ignoring his shout of protest, Ace continued. "We have to make sure that that guy doesn't try anything funny. If he is with the Old Man, I have a feeling he is here to try and make us change our mindsabout becoming Pirates."
"If you are trying to get rid of me, you should try harder." came the bored tone behind them as all three of them froze. Slowly turning to look behind themself, they came across a pair of bored yellow eyes.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ace, Sabo and Luffy shouted at top of their lungs at the sudden appearance of Free. They screamed for a solide half minute. When they finished screaming, they took several steps back from Free.
"I can guess you know why im here?" asked Free as his yellow orbs peeled in their souls.
Ace was the first one to get over the shock. "Yea. And let me tell you right now. No matter what you do or say, we will not join the Marines! We will be Pirates!" he declared strongly as his two brothers nodded in determination.
There was a silence as they stared at each other. Free then simply said. "I wasn't even planning on making you guys join the Marines."
"Eh?" that was the only sound that came from their throats as they looked at Free in confusion.
"I mean, I won't even try to change your minds. You become whatever you want. Garp just said that I try." explained Free as the three kids still looked at him in shock and confusement.
"Wait, then why did the Old Man bring you here? Sure, he has to have a reason." asked Sabo as the four of them sat down and the three brothers managed to calm down.
"Mostly so I could stop being a free-loader in their HQ." bluntly stated Free as the three brothers imagined Free lazing around a office while Garp yells at him. That image made them laught.
This was the moment that will start a good friendship.
(A few months later)
When somebody told the young Luffy that this day will come, he wouldn't belive it. He never imagined that his friend Free would do something like this.
Currently, the Hero and kid were sitting at the dock, looking at the rising morning Sun.
"So, you really are leaving?" asked Luffy as they both didn't move their gazes away from the Sun.
"I told you and your brothers that i have to." said calmly Free, who now had multiple bandages around his exposed right arm. He also had some bandages around his torso. He put his hand on top of Luffy head, like he was giving him a headpat.
"When will you return?" asked Luffy as Free stayed silent for a moment.
"I have no idea. After that fight a few weeks ago, I have a lot to think about." seeing the saddend expression his friend had, Free took something from his pocket and gave him.
Opening his hand, Luffy saw a piece of paper with something writen on it with a red tint. "What is this?" he asked curiously.
"It is a special paper I gained when I was born. When you think you need my help and when you start making a pirate crew, just take this paper and mutterthe words writen on it while thinking of me. I will surely come, no matter where you are. Ace and Sabo allready have one." said Free as Luffy inspected the paper and put it in his straw hat. He turned to Free and gave him a big smile.
"Sure thing! Just you wait, I will start my journey to become Pirate King in no time!" he declared proudly as Free smiled.
"Whatever you say." he looked at the Sun and saw it was fully on display. "Well, guess I should hit the road. I have a lot of places to visit." the two friends stood up as they approached the water.
"Good luck in your travels! If you see any other Hero, kick his ass!" said Luffy in his way of saying "Safe travels".
"You bet I will do it. Hope you get strong when you start the journey, not that I have any doubt." said Free as from his back six energy wings similar to angel wings appeared as he began to slowly ascend. "We see each other in a few years. One the Grand Line!" and with that Free began to fly away from the island he called home, not before returning Luffy's waving.
(Present time)
Sabaody Archipelagp was kown for a place where many Pirate Crews stop to prepare to cross the Red Line and enter the New World. It was not strange to see Pirates fighting. It was also not strange to see them fighting with Marines.
But what mostly caused problems were the World Nobles. They acted like they owned the place. Well, they used to.
It started a a mere rumor that someone was hunting and killing the Nobles in the most brutal and cruel ways. The rumor soon turned to be a real fact after a person witnessed something brutally killing a Noble with what was described as "a dragon head coming from the persons back".
They never managed to learn the true identity of the killer, but they saw him. He was described to wear a fur-rimmed hood. He had half of his face covered by a mask. Some people who were lucky enough saw his not covered face half. They said that he had a amused smile on his face. One that screamed trouble.
And today was a really special day. One of the Groves of Sabaody was covered in spider webs as people had to be very careful not to get caught. In the middle of that Grove, the killer was sitting at a fountain as he hummed a song. Above, in the spider webs, several Nobles were hanging dead with looks of pure fear.

Sang the killer as he heard footstep approaching him, making him stop mid-song. Looking in front of him, he was greeted with a very tall man wearing a yellow suit and a Marine Admiral coat. The killer immediatley knew who it was as he smiled.
"Kizaru, nice to see you got my invitation." the killer said as he stood up. "I would like to offer you maybe a tea or snacks, but im all out. Sorry." he said in a complete normal tone, not bothered that a Marine Admiral is in front of him. Kizaru looked around the area as his eyes landed on the dead nobles, before returning to the masked killer in front of him.
"A few weeks ago it was through shredding. Last week it was through explosions. And this week is in a similar way of a spider." Kizaru said as he recalled the few week. "You change your way of killing each time. I would say you are a Devil Fruit user, but no matter how you look at it, it is highly immposible to tell what your exact power is, mister killer."
The killer gave a close eyed smile. "My power is for me to know and you to find out only when you're on Death's door."
Kizaru grew also a small smile. "Is that a challange?" he asked as the killer's smile only grew.
"Of course." the moment he gave the answere, the killer was sent flying and crashing through a building. It was Kizaru who kicked him with one of his light enchanted kick's.
"You know, this is going on for to long. Every week you kill a World Noble, then either I, Aokiji or Akainu have to go here. Then you mess with us and in the end you run and escape somehow." Kizaru sumarised as the killer slowly recovered. "Honestly, it is starting to get on my nerves. So I will finish this fast and get rid of you once and for all." he began to charge a light blast as the killer laughted slightly.
"Man, talk about irony. The slowest man I know has the power to be fast as light. And we both know that this will not end fast." the killer stated as he suddenly dissapeared.
Kizaru looked around and above in the webs trying to find the killer. "You know what the problem is about high people?" came the killers voice. "They never look down and behind."
True to his words, the killer was standing just behind him, out of Kizarus sight. The Admiral managed to block the fist aimed at his midsection and push the killer away.
"You have guts to attack a Admiral." praised Kizaru as he began to charge a blast. "Lets hope you have that much speed." and the light laser was fired and it hit the killer making a dustcloud.
Once the dust was settled, it revealed the killer with a hole in his shoulder with the building behind him destroyed. He slightly winced when he touched the hole.
"Man, your light is no joke. Almost gave any permanent damage. Key word: almost." the killer said as the wound began to close, suprising Kizaru.
"High speed regeneration? Did not see that coming." said a honestly suprised Kizaru.
"Maybe because it was no one managed to hurt me so far." taunted the killer as Kizaru appeared behind him, ready to kick him with a light-speed kick.
The killer barely dodged as he jumped to make a distance. He couldn't catch his breath as Kizaru re-appeared in front of him. Seeing that dodgeing will only tire him more, the killer raised his arms and blocked the kick, stoping Kizaru in his tracks.
"Huh? Oh, so you can use Armament Haki." said a suprised Kizaru, noticing the black stuff covering the killers hands and legs.
"Yea. Lets call it Haki." the killer muttered as he grabed the blocked leg and threw the Admiral a good distance away, crashing into a building.
Once Kizaru managed to get out of the building, he noticed that not only the killer dissapeared, but also the spider webs. Which made the hanged Nobles crash down. The Admiral looked around as he noticed a small note.
Maybe next time, suckers.

Kizaru crumbled the note in his hand in small irritation as he looked around the damage they caused. Well, it was still better that what Akainu does when he hunts him down.
"Sengoku will not be happy when he hears this." muttered Kizaru as he began to leave. While he knew that each Admiral failed to catch the killer at least once, that didn't save them from the scolding Sengoku gave them.
Sometimes it was very hard to be a Admiral of the Marines.
(Grove 13, Shakky's Rip-off Bar)
The killer descended from one of the high trees of Sabaody as he appeared in front of a bar he knew very well. He opened the door and was greeted by two people he knew very well.
"Yo Ray, Shakky." gretted the killer as he got the attention of the two people present. A old man that could kick his ass anytime and a younger woman that the killer knew had all news about the world. The killer's cloack began to dissapear as it was replaced with a very familiar outfit as he tossed the mask away.
"I would say that the killing went well, Free?" asked Silvers Rayleigh none other than Free, the First Hero created by Vegapunk and Luffy childhood friend. He looked like he didn't change one bit since he last saw Luffy. There was no sign of him ageing.
"What do you think?" answered Free with another question as sat at the bar.
"Word's travel fast here. Especialy if it is about the person who kills World Nobles and hangs them in spider weebs." asnwere Shakky.
"Those sissys couldn't handle my Spider Dance." said Free gaining a small laugh from Rayleigh.
"I still don't know how you name your moves. Most of the youngsters try for them to me intimidating, but your just sound silly." said Rayleigh getting a glare from Free.
"Lets not forget who was the person that got hit my his Death by Glamour." said Shakky as this time Free laughted.
"How should have I knew that he will fight me like that." grimaced Rayleigh. It was not that the move did much damage on him. It was that the move was so strange that he barely managed to dodge it. "Anyway, do you have any idea about how much till your brother calls you?"
"I have a feeling that he will soon call. From some sources I learned that he is nearing Alabasta." said Free.
"Alabasta? You mean the desert country that was hit by a permanent sandstorm on one location?" asked Shakky as she recalled reading about that country and the sandstorm that surrounded only one area.
"Yup. And if my guess is right, I might even face a strong Hero soon." stated Free as his yellow eyes began to slightly glow.
"Heh, guess even if you are bored 24/7, you still are somehow a blood knight." said Rayleigh as he chuckled along with Shakky. "Do you have any other plans for today or are you just going to laze around?"
"Well, I honestly though of maybe leaving Sabaody and begining to make my way to Luffy." said Free as he stood up.
"Leaving now for real or are you just joking?" asked Shakky as Free was at the door.
"This time im serious. I not only need to catch up with Luffy, but there are other Heros out there that I need to defeat. Im really gratefull for leting me stay here and I promise we will see each other again." said Free as he bowed in gratitute.
"No worry, Free. Just go out and live your life." encouraged Rayleigh as Free smiled one last time before leaving the bar.
"Honestly, I will kind of miss him and the stunts he does to the Nobles." said Shakky after a minute of silence.
"I know, but we can't keep him here. But there is something that's been bothering me." said Rayleigh in a serious tone. "For some time, when I saw him, I got the feeling that he looks and acts familiar to me."
"Maybe you meet him once while on Roger's crew." said Shakky as Rayleigh shook his head.
"Doubt it. Maybe I saw him at that time, but not on the crew. I just can't remember from where." said Rayleigh as he tried to remember from where the young Hero looked and feelt familiar
And done. The first chapter of the One Piece/Fate crossover story done. I at first planned a self-insert, but since there is enough of them, I decided on this one. Maybe I will do a self-insert in the future.
Anyway, like you saw here Heroic Spirits are actually artificial humans, like homonculus. They have their own NP and powers, just slightly weakend. Maybe. Not all will appear in the story, just some that fit the Arc lore.
Next we have the MC OC, Free who is the first Hero created. He has his own power and you will see it later what it actually is. I can say since he is a Hero, you can expect him to be stronger that normal humans.
Next chapter, we will have Free introduced to the Straw Hats. It will take place just as the Straw Hats are about to enter Alabasta or when Ace joins them in their journey.
For the pairing, I have some ideas, but it is still undecided.
