*The Last Spartan is a fan fic by Dinojake. I was inspired by the premise and so decided to run with it, combining it with my own view for what should have happened at the end of Mass Effect 3. Spoilers both for end of ME3, and sort of regarding the beginning of The Last Spartan, in so much as my opening is based off it, but changes a big detail.
The Last Spartan (Or Rather, An Idea Based On The Concept Thereof)
Scene: A college doom room. Some friends have been lounging about, smoking pot, reading tv tropes (and thus finding the story, The Last Spartan) when one pikes up...
Student 1: Ok, so hows this?
A. Cortana is slowly going mad. So she is able to use whats keeping Chief in cryo to enter his dreams.
B. She says goodbye before shutting down for good, also telling the Chief she loves him.
C. The Chief remains asleep, his ship eventually, centuries later, being picked up by the Systems Alliance and being brought before Admiral Hackett and Anderson.
D. Its explained that shortly after the Chief went missing, the Mass Relays were discovered, opening up parts of the galaxy still unexplored.
E. The Chief, knowing nothing but war, and needing something to help him as his continues to grieve for Cortana, decides to join the Alliance. He chooses to no longer fight in his old armor and to reclaim his last name. He will now simply be called...John Sheppard.
F. Over the course of the new few years, John spares the last Rachni Queen, helps Wrex cure the genophage, and brings peace between the Quarians and the Geth
G. John chooses the Control Ending BUT does it planning to use the Reapers to fix a lot of the damage, but then divide the Reaper ships between the Citadel Species, withdrawing his control so they are all just ships without AI.
H. The intelligence that was once John withdraws from all of the ships until it only controls one. It then downloads itself into a synthetic body. Since the Expanded Ending said John technically died and left an intelligence inspired by his mission...lets say this intelligence came to think of itself as John's daughter, has taken the look of Cortana...and takes her name to honor her "mother".
Student 1: So...What do ya think?
Student 2: ...
