The Ravine

by Marissa Rianne

Though many say how love is grand
and sweeps blind passion through the land

Me thinks the sight is dismal and

good fortune comes not to.

Hidden in the clovers green

a raving lover, wild and keen

throws herself at the ravine

all for the sake of love.

She left a letter on the dock

of her true fate at one-o-clock

and as you read this she now walk

in the hand of her knight true.

Her heart lay broke for one whole year

she silent wept a mourning tear

Her sweet love's voice had whispered clear

Just one jump and I'll be there
'Oh sweet love, thou art true.'

She gathered up her silken dress

up to the tower, she progressed

her final vow was her confess

as she flew back down to Earth.

Only the weeds will tell her tale

her dreaming came to no avail

she sits alone, behind the veil

still waiting for her knight true.
