Author's Notes: Boo! Happy Halloween, mammals and reptiles! Here is a little Halloween treat and trick for you, Turtle style! A prologue to the possibly-never-to-actually-be-written-unless-someo ne-likes-it story Siren's Candles. No, it is not about a siren, sea-demon of death to sailors everywhere. I wasn't going to post this story at all until I finish Dark Tunnels (an update for that is coming soon, I promise people!) but, what the hey, its Halloween. And no, this won't make a lick of sense to anyone, sorry. Also, no, I will not reveal any potential plot developments. Other than that, have at it! Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own TMNT. But it would be awesome if I did. Siren agrees with me! xD
"It's your fault, ya know," said the little girl. Leo continued walking, ignoring her latest attempt to get to him. "If you weren't so close to your brothers, this might not have happened."
"Go away," Leo growled, fighting to keep his emotions in check.
"If I'm not with you," she said in a sing-song. "Then I'm with your brothers. Are you sure you want to leave them alone with me?" She flashed a smile of whiter-than-white teeth that glinted in the dim lighting.
He didn't answer, and she didn't leave. A blessed moment of silence settled between the two travelers, Leo at a brisk walk towards a mostly unknown destination, and the little girl skipping along behind him with a playful smile still spread across her young face.
Quickening her pace, she began to skip around him, a circle moving with him, each foot landed perfectly in place. Thud thud. Thud thud. Perfectly in time with his heartbeat. Thud thud. Thud thud. Then she began to sing again:
"Mary Mary quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells
And pretty maids all in a row"
That was a new one. At least it was short.
She continued her circling skip, her blood-red hair streaming behind her as she moved faster.
Thud thud. Thud thud.
Her feet matching his heart beat as she went faster. No, wait- his heart was speeding up to match her!
Thud thud. Thud thud.
Thump thump. Thump thump.
A chill ran down his spine as darkness began to edge his vision and he realized what she was doing.
"No. No, stop. What are you—"
"Nu huh, little turtle, you are mine to play with until the candles go out, remember? You made a deeeeeeaaaaaal." As her giggle echoed around the corridor, the sickly familiar feeling hit him again. The feeling like falling endlessly through ice cold water.
The last thing he heard before the darkness overtook him was the little girl, who was no longer a little girl, but a grown woman, say, "Pleasant dreams, little turtle."
Author's Notes: Well, there you have it. A little treatly trick of intrigue. Tell me what you think, peeps!
The rating for the prologue is K+, but the rest of the story will be M for blood, gore, both physical and mental torture, death, and insanity. Little to no drug, alcohol, or sexual references will be used, and language will more than likely stay mild because I myself don't cuss much at all. Rated solely for epic blood baths and mental insanity. Buwahahaha! Trick-or-treat, ghouls and gals. Tell me what you dressed up as! Happy Halloween! Stay safe today. :)
