Riku's fingers traced the curve of Sora's cheek.

"How many years has it been?"

Sora smiled, boyish and charming as he ever was.

"I thought you were supposed to be counting!"

Riku's smile faded into a pained grimace. "57 years," he said, softly.

"Aw, Riku, you know I didn't mean anything by it! Now turn that frown upside down!"

Riku made a show of turning his expression into a smile using his fingers, which resulted in the both of them laughing.

"Man, it's been a long time since I've laughed like that. I've missed you, Sora."

"I've missed you too. But it's been nice, watching you and Kairi live your lives. I still can't believe she said yes after the clumsy way you proposed to her!"

Riku chucked, "Yeah, me too. But I made up for it when we renewed our vows for our fiftieth."

"You did."

The two reflected on the moment, simply drinking each other in.

"I love you."

It was all that was left to be said. With that, they settled down on the white sand, and waited for Kairi to arrive.
