- The Raven -

In the dead of night, when all the other Titans were sleeping soundly in their rooms, Beast Boy sat, perched on the edge of his bed, a book sitting open in is lap. He cleared his throat and read aloud, " Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore." As he read, he heard a knock on his door, but he ignored it, continuing his reading, "While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door." The knocking on Beast Boy's door became louder, but still he made no move to answer it. He read on, "`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door - only this, and nothing more.'"

The knocking grew even louder still, and finally Beast Boy stood up from his bed, and walked over to the door, speaking. "Sir," he said, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you." He then opened up his door, to see a very sleepy Raven peering at him from across the doorway.

"Stop reading poetry and go to sleep," she said, sounding both tired and annoyed. "It's past midnight and we have combat practice at eight tomorrow."

"I thought you supposed to say 'Nevermore'," said Beast Boy, smiling slyly at her.

"Go to bed," said Raven, still annoyed, rolling her eyes at Beast Boy. And without another word, she turned and headed off back towards her room, unable to keep a small smile from forming on her face.

MC: Tried to write the next chapter of "It All Started With a Question" but ended up writing this instead. I was in the mood for something wacky and fun. Hope you liked it.
