Ruby loved strawberries and she loved cookies. If you mixed both together and put them in front of her they would vanish within seconds.
She knew she could live on cookies for a long time, her semblance affecting not only her speed she could run at but her metabolism as well so it was very hard for her to gain weight.
But there was one thing that Ruby soon discovered that she began to like more than cookies, even strawberry cookies.
She started dating Neo not long after the tournament and the defeat of Cinder. They were friends for a while before they knew of each other's professions and when Neo was offered a full pardon in return for information she took it to be with Ruby.
When they first kissed it was something Ruby didn't really notice. It wasn't until the second, and the third and the fourth and more that day when Ruby began to notice.
She didn't know how to bring it up with her girlfriend, she loved kissing Neo and she couldn't explain it. That was until she mentioned it around Blake and her sister heard.
"Heh, maybe she tastes of something you like." Yang said almost offhandedly.
This single comment got Ruby thinking over and over again and when she next saw Neo again and kissed her in greeting she realised what Yang meant.
"You taste like strawberries!" Ruby exclaimed aloud.
"What?" Neo asked surprised at Ruby's sudden statement.
"Well I just love kissing you and I couldn't work out why." Ruby said, kissing Neo again.
"Um, should I be worried?" Neo asked, confused.
"Nope." Ruby said happily, hugging herself into her girlfriend's chest. "Do I taste of anything?" Ruby asked innocently.
Blushing Neo looked away from Ruby, realising what exactly the girl meant but her mind didn't really think of that.
"Um a little like roses and also cookies as well." Neo replied.
"Really? You taste like strawberries to me." Ruby replied, smiling wide.
"Oh do I? That explains why you like kissing me so much." Neo teased.
"I like kissing you for more reasons than just that." Ruby replied, smiling deviously as she got another kiss from Neo.
"Do you really think I taste of strawberries?" Neo asked huskily.
"Hmm, I'm doubting it a little now. I think I need a little more evidence." Ruby replied back in the same tone.
The next day when Ruby returned to her dorm room, her lips were a little sore from kissing Neo all day the day before and now her lips were red and a little puffy.
As soon as she entered the dorm room early the next morning she was surprised to see Yang, wide awake and looking at the door.
"So good day yesterday?" Yang teased.
"Um yeah, it was good thanks." Ruby said shyly.
Yang just hummed in response as she watched Ruby head towards the bathroom but couldn't help but call out after her, "So what does Neo taste of?" Yang asked teasingly.
Ruby blushed as she shut the door, Neo having explained what she thought Ruby meant when she first mentioned about taste so now she was inside the bathroom blushing.
But decided to get some payback, "Of the best strawberries I've ever had." Ruby called out, smiling as she heard Yang fall onto the ground outside.
A/N
So this idea came from a Q&A session at the Alamo and a comment Miles said about Neo tasting like strawberries so here came the small silly one-shot. Shortest thing I've ever posted that's rather weird.
Also the idea of this sort of thing stemmed from Casdin and what they're doing at the moment with the short fluffy stories. Go get them out, they're amazing.
