He woke up instinctually with the air conditioner whirring in his room and his body tangled in his blanket. Sitting up with a slight dizziness coming to his head as he came to consciousness, he looked around his bed for his water bottle. It was nestled in the corner of the bed resting against the wall; taking a swig of it, he reached into his medicine bag, which was next to him, and pulled out his anxiety medication. With a quick swallow, he blinked more and more, opening his eyes and adjusting them to the sunlight outside. Lying back down, he pulled the blanket every which way to fix it and cover him back up nicely. Castiel turned on his other side, not facing the wall anymore, and looked at the man lying in bed next to him. He was a deeper tone than he was, Castiel was like porcelain next to his body. Gently pushing the strands of hair out of his face as he slept, he stared at him with a gentle smile on his face.

Cas always woke up before Sam, he always had time to reflect on his life in the early mornings. He stared more at him and payed attention to every contour of his face. There was no way that he had been so blessed to wake up next to Sam every morning. For a moment, he covered his own face with the blanket and wept a bit. He felt like he didn't deserve him, after everything Castiel has been through. All the pain, the abuse, the ridicule, the accusations, the name calling, it all was a tape recorder stuck in rewind in his mind. He brought himself back to it quickly once he felt Sam stirring in his sleep. Wiping his eyes and nose on the blanket and looked up from his cocoon and gave a smile, staring at him again.

He woke up with Castiel's face close to his, which brought on a sleepy smile. Closing his eyes again, he gave him a hushed 'good morning' and nuzzled his head into the pillow. His hair was a mess and Cas giggled at that fact, giving a sniffle, he ran his fingers through the strands and holding the back of his head as he kissed Sam's nose. Sam opened his eyes a bit and kissed his nose back, bringing a large arm around Cas' torso, pulling him close into a hug. They lied there for a moment, skin to skin, enjoying each other's presence. There was nothing but the air conditioner making noise now, not even the bustle in Castiel's head, which brought on silent, but happy, tears.
