A/N: I'll admit I initially had some reservations about publishing a winter story in the middle of summer, but after a conversation with white pedal, I figured why not? That said, I hope you all enjoy this.
Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh or any of the characters, Kazuki Takahashi does.

Zigfried von Schroeder could never explain in words why he loved winter so much. Perhaps it had to do with those rare moments when he was caught up on his work that he could just sit back and relax.
Perhaps it was the rarity of such moments that made him treasure them so, moments where he could enjoy the cool, crisp air and the underlying scent of pine as a gentle breeze fluttered through the now bare branches of the trees of the Black Forest.
Though he still had to keep the image of a serious businessman, the allure of the season itself drew him in. Of course, another contributing factor was the fact that the same things appealed his brother Leon as well.
Both brothers would occasionally bundle up and go for a peaceful walk through the picturesque scenery and all the while Zigfried would listen as Leon likened it all to the illustrations in his extensive collection of fairy tales. Other times neither would say a word and the only sound would be the crunching of snow under their boots or the sound of the wind.
To say the least, both brothers were enchanted by winter as a whole. And just a short time before, Leon had found one more thing about the season that he favored and as a result, Zigfried favored in time as well; during the evenings, the two would sit out on one of the castle's balconies and watch the sunset. The indescribable sight of watching the sun cast the last of its golden rays as it sank behind the mountains now blanketed by snow, along with that peaceful silence that only the snow could create, allowed the pair a feeling of euphoria that they could still enjoy even as the sky darkened and glimmering stars made their appearance, and even as the moon took the sun's place, shining its silvery light and illuminating the snow all through the night.
But it was more than that. It was also a chance for them to bond as they had never had a chnce to do so during their younger years. But Zigfried intended to make up for lost time. They could never get back the time they had lost but they could move forward. After all, the past was in the past. It was time to look to the future.

I hope everyone enjoyed that. Feel free to let me know.
Now, I'm going to do something a little different. I am currently working on stories for the Wheelers, the Kaibas, the Schroeders, the Ishtars, and (a heads-up for any Zexal fans) the Arclights. Feel free to leave a comment or send me a pm requesting which one you want to see first. Then first thing tomorrow morning, the winner will be published, followed by second and then so on.
Until tomorrow, everyone. KaibaGirl out.
