This is my first LightClan challenge. No flames.

Disclaimer: I do not own warriors.

Nightkit tumbled through the cold snow, playing with her litter mate. She loved every part of leaf bare, besides the lack of food, of course.

"Hey Nightkit, look!"

Nightkit turned her amber gaze to her sister, Dawnkit. "What?"

"No one is looking, let's go outside, just for a moment."

Nightkit glanced around. Not a single PineClan warrior was looking their way. "Let's do it," she agreed.

Cautiously, as Nightkit's dark grey pelt stood out like the sun in the sky, they made their way out of the camp through a hole in the wall. Once free, they laughed and played, getting further and further away from camp. Finally they both tumbled into separate snow drifts.

Nightkit popped out of hers, laughing. "Dawnkit, come out!" She looked around. "Dawnkit?" Snow started falling. "Dawnkit!" Nightkit wailed. The snow started coming down harder until she couldn't see. Unable to stand the cold and wishing she could be curled up at her mother's belly, she stumbled around until she fell under the roots of an old tree, out of the snow. She curled up in a tight ball and would have cried herself to sleep if cats had tears. Instead, she sank into the pessimistic part of her until sleep came. When she woke the next day, it was to the sound of pawsteps and calls.

"Nightkit! Dawnkit!"

Nightkit slowly emerged from the safety of the roots, and saw her father and a few other cats.

"Nightkit! Thank StarClan, where is Dawnkit?"

"I- I don't know, she- she disappeared a- and I c- couldn't find her a- and-"

"Hush Nightkit, it's okay now, you're safe." He used a paw to pull her closer to him. "You go on and search for Dawnkit, I'm bringing Nightkit back to camp." He carried her back to camp by her scruff and set her down in the nursery.

"Nightkit! I was so worried, where's Dawnkit?" Her mother started licking her all over.

"We haven't found Dawnkit yet, I sent the others searching for her while I brought Nightkit back."

Just then a yowl sounded from the entrance.

Her father bounded out of the den and back in. "They found Dawnkit."

Nightkit followed them out of the nursery. There on the ground in the middle of camp lay Dawnkit, cold and lifeless. Her mother wailed to the sky, but Nightkit simply stared in shock.

Their leader bowed his head. "We will sit vigil for this kit tonight and bury her in the morning."

There was one lesson that Nightkit learned from that adventure. Obey the warrior code, or risk your life.

As I said, this is my first LightClan challenge. No flames, you don't have to like it if you don't want to.
