(a/n - just a quick drabble to release some stress from going back to my hectic life. And it is bonfire night, and all I can hear is fireworks. I only like fireworks because of the science of them and the history of bonfire night. Anyhow, CUtopia, a new Snooch - and mmad - fan, I guess this is sort of for you since you made me decide to do a short Snooch drabble. It is terrible. Be warned.)

Fireworks Aren't Fun.

Severus sat grumpily in his potions lab. He hated bonfire night. He hated having to constantly clear the labs of pesky students trying to find a place to make cheap fireworks or bonfire toffee. He hated the excitement. He hated the noise. It was not fun.

Rolanda made her way through the castle. She hated bonfire night. She hated not being able to fly due to too many fireworks. She hated her quidditch pitch being ruined by students creating bonfires there. She hated the fatty foods. It was not fun.

Severus opened his door and silently let Rolanda in. This had become an unspoken tradition between them. They both hated fireworks, and so both holed up together in his dungeon throughout most of the evening until Rolanda felt it safe enough to floo back to her chambers.

Rolanda was grateful to Severus for putting her up for an evening every year. And maybe a few in between, if she felt particularly in need of his company. The week around Halloween and bonfire night was always full of fireworks. And new year's eve. Usually, though, she managed to block out the fireworks, as they weren't that bad. Except on November 5th. Every year, without a doubt, she would accept his unspoken offer.

Both of them would never admit it out loud, but they enjoyed bonfire night, if only a tiny bit, due to each other's company. The tranquil evening away from the rest of the hullabaloo of the castle meant to great deal to both of them. None of them would ever dare to admit it out loud, but they were fond of one another.

And so it would be that their mutual dislike of fireworks would bring them both together.

(a/n - told you it would be rubbish! Thanks for reading anyway! Reviews and favourites are always welcome! *-*)
