Bittersweet Symphony
She was tired of running. Plopping down on a nearby bench, she drew in a large breath. No, this wasn't right. He of all people should know better than to mess with her. She tugged on her thick black braid. She was so going to murder him for this!!
How dare he go wandering off in a computer store twice the size of their apartment building!! How dare he leave her in the clutches of geeks!! How dare he have the nerve to saunter up as if not to notice every geek "of age" within fifteen yards hitting on her with no mercy!!
I'm surprised I don't have bruises,
she thought fervently. She tugged at her braid again, allowing the tie to come loose in her hand. A mass of black with hints of purple rested on her back."Saki!" Hands caught her waist and fingers did their best to tickle and destroy perfect composure.
Her head snapped around. She immediately went into defensive mode.
"Koushiro Izumi!!!" she screeched, scrambling to her feet to get a better look at her traitor.
A young man of 16 came into view, his reddish-brown locks sticking out in all the wrong places. A mischievous look intertwined with guilt clouded his bright face. He flashed a cautious grin at the fuming angel before him. "Aww, Saki, don't be mad. I can't help the fact that I'm eas-ily. . . distracted."
Another woman walked past, and much to Sakura's abhorrence Koushiro's gaze was following her. She shot him a death glareĆ and stormed off in the opposite direction. "You are such a disappointment, you ja-ku!
He caught up with her. "Come now, Saki, you can't hold a grudge forever!" He was getting frustrated. He hadn't intended leaving her alone, but he and technology just got along so damn well.
She narrowed her violet eyes. "You're forgetting something. I can too hold a grudge forever, I'm a damn immortal!" She spun around to face him, only to be caught up in his embrace. She had failed miserably. If she tried to fight, she'd only end up in the lake. She sighed in frustration and turned her attention to a near by tree.
He suppressed a laugh at this sight. Clearing his throat, he prepared his apology speech in his head. "I'm sorry, Sakura, I really am. I didn't realize what they were doing until I got there." He put on a puppy dog face. "Can you find in that angelic heart of yours the strength to forgive me?" He raised his eyebrows and put on a convincing smile. Even if he was a computer geek, she couldn't resist him.
She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. "I suppose."
Koushiro loosened his grip on her to caress her face, but by the time his hand was where her face was, she was gone. "Damn, I hate it when she does that," he muttered, looking out over the lake to see his Saki merrily feeding the koi.
Eurgh. Not the lake again.
