Digimon: Return from the Digivoid

Chapter 1

Ken Ichijouji fell and hit the ground hard but it felt good, in his mind anyway. Not for his knees. He hadn't felt the real ground for three years. Ken looked up just in time to see the window to the digivoid close before his eyes. He curled up in hunger just as the rain started to fall. Yes, it feels good to be back.

Takato Matsuki ran up the steps to the old shelter hiding Guilmon, Guardomon and Marineangemon. "Hey! Guilmon! I'm back!" He yelled as he got nearer the top. Takato unlocked the gate and was surprised to find the shelter full. Everyone was here. Even Rika and Renamon showed up. Impmon was playing with Guilmon and Terriermon in the mound of dirt Guilmon had made.
"Hey, man! Happy birthday!" Kazu Shioda screamed in Takato's ear.
"Thought we'd forget, huh?" Henry Wong laughed, picking up Terriermon. Takato laughed.
"I just didn't want a fuss…" Takato started but trailed off.
"Momentai, Takato-mon" Terriermon giggled.

Mitsuo Yamaki clicked his lighter open then shut. He was at home, staring out of the living room window. His wife, Riley Ootori Yamaki, sat at the computer in the corner of the room. They had both always liked computers. Mitsuo was once the head of a large computer based government agency called Hypnos.
But Hypnos had fallen apart after the events of last year after Mitsuo had been fired. All that remained was a large tower, slowly being deconstructed, and his marriage to Riley. Riley had worked with him since the agency had been established.
"Err… Mitsuo?" Riley sat back in almost shock. Mitsuo turned to face his wife. At a glimpse of the screen he seemed just as astonished. The Hypnos program was running on the screen.
"Impossible…" Yamaki muttered. "I thought I saw the last of this…"
The screen started to flash and a red dot appeared. Yamaki and Riley watched, stunned. The dot was small; the bio-emerged "Wild One" must be about the size of a thin teenage kid.
Then the screen blanked and turned white. Riley tore her eyes from the screen to look at her husband. Yamaki was just as pale as the monitor.

Hours later; Riley had went to bed but Yamaki stayed at the computer. It had been in the white screen state since it had run the Hypnos program. Yamaki had tried unplugging the screen and computer but it made no change. The screen stayed white. Yamaki leaned on to the desk and felt something between his hand and the wood. He looked down to see a deep blue card.
"A digicard?" He muttered in disbelief. Five minutes later, he was sitting at the computer with a dusty digicard scanner that he had to search his apartment for. He had never been into digimon but had once found the scanner at work and decided to study it at home all but to find it was useless. But now it wasn't.
Not quite sure or ready for what might happen, Yamaki swiped the digicard. The scanner glowed and morphed into a white digivice. Yamaki stared blankly. The game continues, he thought.

Ken walked through a park he had stumbled upon. He didn't know where to go yet. All he did know was that he would have to wait for a digifield to appear. Then he could summon his ultimate digimon and rule again as the Digimon Emperor.
